Judging is a very tough thing to do and a COMPLETELY THANKLESS TASK. I'm grateful that George takes on the job. We originally wanted to keep the whole trophy thing more casual but from what we've discovered, those trophies mean a lot......which is a good thing!

We'll have more categories and more trophies next year and we will re-vamp our judging procedures to be as fair as possible to everyone. There's not a lot of time to scrutunize 120+ cars for 8-10 awards in a 2 hour window so we may really push the idea of displaying a list of mods and pre-registering with more car details to give recognition to to the cars and people who deserve it most and make their cars more noticable for judging. Let's face it....better cars, better displayed make a better show. I DEFINITELY want an award for Best Display as well.

Thanks for the input.

I think 8-10 awards is pretty fair, irrelevant of the size of the show..
These people cry cause they never been to a real show, where there are 1000's
of cars, and the awards a strict to every category, with strict rules..
they dont know anything about that..
Once again, great work, looking forward to next year.. Rain or Shine..

The whole point of the show is to make people happy and enjoy the whole experience. Just the fact that winning a trophy IS IMPORTANT, is incentive to make more recognition available for the people who support the show. I'm thrilled that the trophies MEAN SOMETHING to the winners.

Keep in mind that I need to keep the event "family themed" to get support from Rallye management and BMW. I'm sure that 2000 watts of techno would create a more exciting vibe for most of the show car participants but the crowd is a mix of all ages and the live music covers all of the bases and stays very "PC". I think that having a DJ during registration and trophy time is do-able though.

As for food, I do NOT want to charge anyone for food so keeping the basic BBQ works best when it's free. I may entertain inviting a couple of NYC Style food trucks to sell food for those who don't want free hotdogs. We're also working on getting a Monster promo truck here to jack you guys up on energy drinks...that might help the "moodless" thing...lol

Thanks for the input

It's all a budget thing. You'd be surprised how much $$$ simple burgers add to a budget to feed 700+ people for free. I could buy 300 burgers from Wendy's and come out ahead! I'd love to see burgers and sausage and peppers too but my main concern is keeping the food FREE. I really like the whole FREE admission, FREE registration, FREE food thing.

We'll try to get some food trucks. A lot of people dont eat hotdogs.

Would you guys prefer a whole hotdogs, burgers, sausage, chicken sandwich thing with a charge? My caterer would LOVE that!

I'm curious to know how they handle food at the Eurofest Event in NJ? If you guys attend, please let me know? That sounds like a pretty nice event. Paul Miller Motor Group is a class operation.

thanks
