Gathering my CCC to CIC parts...
So, after 3 weeks of owning my 06 325xi wagon, I'm doing the CIC retro. Currently the car is CCC with voice control, no usb, no bluetooth, no telephone.
I just picked up a CIC unit, and waiting for news on a CID. But, I need the proper cables, and that green connector (unless there's a plug in adaptor I can use to avoid re-pinning connctors?) I'm keeping my CCC idrive controller (for now). I've read and read, but can't seem to find a source for the necessary cables. CID to CIC CIC to USB ARM REST CIC to USB GLOVEBOX CID display connector (that green one?) thanks! |

Nevermind. Ordered it all via ECS tuning (300$ for the needed cables, usb etc..)
Any recommendations on CIC emulators? The ebay ones at all good? |

Does anyone know if I should get bmw to update all my software before doing my retrofit? Seems if I install a oem alarm.. looks like bmw needs to code and update the car. I have a feeling they cant if I've changed to a cic?

You could code the alarm yourself man... far as I know I doubt you'd get much from the update.

I believe it's the dealer coding which is different than the OBD2 port? I'll need a coding expert to chime me in here =)
So far I've gotten all the code, programs, wiring for my items to arrive in the mail. My test coding will be to make my AE's daytime driving lights! =) |
