Has anyone remapped a 318d?

I've read lots of threads about people who have remapped a 320d, but none for a 318d. Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of doing this and how good the results were. Be interested to find out if anyone's got any info on this please.

i think they are exactly the same engine, just a different map.

So i guess that the results would be the same for 318d or 320d.

Give ant a call at speedreligion or simon at Emaps dealt with both of them and they are good blokes.

There are others but i havent delat with them, but are spoken highly of they are evovle and dms

I'm sure I answered this the last time - mine was mapped at Superchips and it is a different car, I'd highly recommend it.

I'm not going mad - here is the original discussion - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...13#post3837713

Good luck with the re-map webby mate. Remember to post up your impressions once done!

Thanks Carlos. Undecided who to use at the moment. Evolve or e-maps are the ones I'm thinking of using at the moment.

Webby, if you are ever up near Oxford let me know and I'll be happy to let you have a go in mine to see the difference - you will be amazed.

Cheers.

Thanks for your kind offer Beaky. I don't tend to get out of Kent very often, but if I do I will certainly take you up on your generosity.

Just trying to justify to the wife why I need to spend "more money" (her words not mine) on my car!

Speaking with direct line will only cost me £24 between now and early may when my policy renews for a remap! didn't think that was too shabby.

I'm pretty sure the turbo's are different on the 318d and 320d, as you can remap the 320d to over 200bhp.

It will be interesting to see what your impressions are and the mpg you get post map compared to the changes to mine as the outputs are different in respect of the amount of power gained so might make quite a difference

The dyno results showed 183 bhp peak and +80NM torque - most of my driving is across town and back with 5 miles along an A road and the car refuses to dip below 42mpg even with booting it along the A road. On a run from Brum the other day at about 85 including some urban driving it averaged 57 door to door !!!!!

It might have been 85, i could have been confused and was doing a steady 70 as that is the law obviously
