Take a look here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17800

There's instructions on how to do it (super easy), and download links for the latest firmware (5.3).

If I recall correctly, I believe that my firmware date was inaccurate as well on the JB4 interface.
I haven't cut the diode or uploaded any of the ISO .hex files (Although I don't know if the previous owner cut the diode). The Hex file that I uploaded was "N55_081712.HEX". Everything seemed to run fine or did I do something seriously wrong? Either way I'm not driving the car until probably friday.

EDIT: Its the HEX file attached to this post: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...08&postcount=1

Oh alright you're safe. That's pre-ISO software, so you're in the clear. The newest software is ISO 5.3 - for which you will have to cut the diode.

Okay thanks man, Would you recommend cutting the diode to get up to ISO 5.3?

It's really up to you. On one hand, don't fix what ain't broke. On the other, why would you not want the newest software?

I've had issues since the update, but I'm beginning to believe that it's because my car is a lemon. For others, it seems to have fixed a bunch of issues!

Either way, don't let the diode deter you. It's super easy and fool-proof - sans the utmost foolish of fools.

I drove it the past weekend with no issues, I'm absolutely loving it. The gains on a mostly stock engine (only bms intake) is amazing. It's so much more then I was expecting, I feel like i have the fastest car on the road lol

Isn't it almost shocking, how much power that thing can pump out with just the JB4?

I will put the JB and CP on first then the DP. Got a good deal on one so just bought it. Looking for an ER CP because I like the stock mounting attachment.

It really is amazing, If the car came from the factory running like it does on just Map 1 there would be no competition from the other manufactures.

Do you think ill be better off getting a CP before the DP? I am afraid of bursting the stock CP if I upgrade to a DP and start running map 2.

It's been my understanding that the CP upgrade this early on is more preemptive than anything. The stock CP is likely to fail at increased boot levels because it is plastic but not at map2 levels. That being said it's never a good time for it to go wrong but personally I will be doing DP and FMIC before CP.

So the boost levels on map 2 shouldn't damage the cp?

If you're risk adverse, go for the CP first.
If you like to live life on the wild side, go for the DP first.

It's really up to you. Some people have reported blowing the CP on completely stock cars.

Install was easy*.

*I had a bitch of a time getting it to reach and fit properly. Had a leak initially, but managed to fix it and clamp that bitch down.

pics of your tints? I'm curious at one point cops start giving a hard time both tint and exhaust wise. I'm used to Florida where've I've had some fairly dark tints on 300zx, e36, e46 and I've never been pulled over for it. Now driving like an asshole is another issue.

That blows! Shouldn't effect your CP decision though. Completely unrelated things haha.

You should probably remove that cover hahah. Maybe your tints too. My past two cars had 20% tints; I was always into that kind of thing. I mean, who's business is it but my own, if I decide to pick my nose while driving? Hahaha.
This car came with tints, but I decided to pull them off for a cleaner look. It's actually kind of nice not having them!
