All red Burgundies are from the pinot noir grape; all white Burgundies are from the chardonnay grape. Both Burgundies are far superior to most of the pinot noirs and chardonnays from anywhere else in the world.

one of my favorites. If I go to the bar I'm not drinking wine, but at a classy environment or a nice restaurant you look like a hick drinking beer, nor does it pair well with a fine steak.

Not all pinots from Burgundy are good.

All pinots have rocketed in price in the last 2 years, just starting to come back down. Mostly because of the movie Sideways (haven't seen it).

I tasted a Grand Cru Burgundy last December that was like nothing I've ever tasted. Unbelievably different from any other pinot. It 'danced' in my mouth, like it was sparkling (but it wasn't carbonated).

Look to New Zealand for bargain pinots ($15), Oregon if you want to spend a little more ($20-30).

I love wine, and I'm partial to red wines.

Pinot Noir is too sweet for me. Red is usually Cabernet Sauvignon. If I drink a white, it's going to be Chardonay.

And no there's no problem with a man drinking wine. Unless it's White Zinfindel That's a little gay.

Pinot noir varietals are not usually sweet at all. Maybe you had a bad batch?
