Just ordered my 328 Cabrio

Greetings. Just thought I'd put my $.02 in here, since I've been reading for a bit when I have the time (I am in Iraq).

I just placed an order for my new car. Actually, it's the new car for me and my [soon to be] wife, though I expect I'll drive it more than she does.

2009 BMW 328i Convertible
Manual Transmission N/C
Premium Package
Navigation System
Logic 7 Stereo
Sport package
Cold Weather Package
Comfort Access
iPod Adapter (6FL)

My fiance and I chose Titanium Silver with Black Leather interior, and the aluminum trim. Standard and plain, perhaps, but we like how it looks.

Since I don't return from Iraq until November, and don't really need a car until January, when I start my next assignment, I decided to wait for a 2009 model to come out. So I am early in the queue for a 2009, once they start producing in September.

Can't wait, but thought I'd share with y'all. The car will be a fine match to my 2003 BMW F650 CSA motorcycle that I will be giving to Jenn once she gets her license and the R1150R Rockster or other BMW bike I'll be buying once I return.

Cheers

Chris

First, thanks for your service, and second congrats on the ride and the fiancee!

Sounds like a very nice car and great choice with the M/T.

BTW, they're taking orders for '09 already?

Not exactly. I've put in my deposit for an '08 model, and Pentagon Car Sales has me slotted against the first '09 orders they can place. So, as soon as the '09 can be ordered, I verify that the price is OK (if it goes up), and the order is placed.

So I have more or less reserved a reservation. If that makes sense.

And thank you for your appreciation. One of my soldiers (a senior non-commissioned officer) returned from his mid-tour leave a few weeks ago and he said that quite a few people were not as pro-soldier as they once were.

As for the manual transmission, there is no other choice in my opinion.

Cheers!
