Hi There, Great informative site, iv'e been an avid spectator for years and have now taken the plunge and joined.

I'm a keen e46 M3 enthusiast and have owned my e46 m3 convertible for going on 5 years now.

I've recently purchased my ex works vehicle, an e92 320 coupe. I know quite a few people in the body shop trade and on it i've had a prior designs kit put on it. It's taken a very long time to do since the kit is not the best!

So now my dilemma is that i've got 19" wheels on it and the standard brake setup looks a little small.

A good friend of mine has given me a complete e92 m3 strut setup including both struts (complete) with brake discs and callipers. I'm wondering how easy a job if at all possible can these be transplanted on.

I've not even thought about the rears yet, I do not want to go down the brembo style setup etc. I Much prefer the standard look of the e92 M3.

Any advice / help will be much appreciated.

Hi!

Two issues that spring to mind are that the brake balance front to rear will be way off, and also that the brake master cylinder might not work well with the much bigger caliper.

Do you have all the arms that attach the hub to the sub frame?

It might very well be okay though, Im on the look out for the front struts and brake assembly myself, although I have the rear brakes from the M3 from my rear m3 sub frame swap on my 335i.

I've not got any of the link rods and other connecting rods other than what is on the 320 now. However if I know all I would need are these I would buy new ones no problem as in the grand scheme of what I already have they'd be in expensive.

Understood about the bias valve and the master cylinder.

I think if you get the arms then you'd be good to go! The M3 arms are quite pricey though, unless you find them 2nd hand. I bought two of the M3 camber arms 2nd hand and they were still £150 as it is a popular upgrade.
