I am happy to see that Dinan kept the HP and Torque curves very consistent with stock curves.

Looks like I found another way to drop yet another 2k on my passion (obsession) - I need

If nothing else, this should tell you that this ENGINE and TRANNY can handle a bunch of power or Dinan would not warranty it. This is very important to look at. 420 rwtq is a ton of torque.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, all of their torque numbers are at the flywheel, not the rear wheels. So their 420 torque is probably more like 360 at the wheels (on their apparently very high reading dyno).

Lol, owned.
i thought loss was NOT a constant HP but a rational number.

Its kind of funny that the oil cooler for my s2k, which had a good 10ft worth of oil lines, was only $500.

My bad. It still shows the tranny will hold a lot more power than some speculated or Dinan would be fools to warranty it.

Canada

In the Kommunist Republic of Kanada, the Dinan SW is $2400 CDN (which is $2400 USD! with current exchange rates) plus an hour of labor.

It is confirmed that the 08 3 series use the D-CAN cable to upload software to the ECU. Unfortunately all the Dinan MIPP cards + programmers use the PT-CAN. So for 08 3er, you need to send in your ECU, major PITA.

I noted the PT-CAN / D-CAN distinction awhile ago when I had my M6 programmed.... Because of the way Dinan controls the licensing with their programmers, they are not keeping up with BMW and the way BMW programs their ECUs.

Have fun!

I still think there is a strong market for the JB1/JB2 as entry level tunes, but this Dinan tune sounds like a better option for say 75% of the customers currently running the higher cost piggybacks.
Terry, I have more and more respect for you all the time and I wasn't always your biggest fan.....sorry. For a tuner to OBJECTIVELY review a competitor and even say that it is a better tune has convinced me that if I decide to go piggyback vs. ECU flash I'm going to buy your product. So nice to have you around here.
