MIR track rental w 135 in the 11's on stock turbo's and more
Another great MIR rental under the belt, this one ended for me in my first carnage in years.
Great weather, -2600DA to start the day! Here are some shots from the day followed by a little video of my mediocre runs. 1st off, one of the reasons I love and pretty much only beat on my M3 at these private rentals is the caliber of people and machines that show up. Where else can you hang out with people this hyped up about their cars and drag racing. Look at these things.....I barely ever see them in person let alone being beat on. More on this Zr1 later.... My sack of bolts w the MM front tray all the way tucked in stock turbo 135 tuned by Jake of PTF ran a 11.7x at 120.xmph 6 or 7 of these things showed up, total beasts they are and then this badass, brought in from Kentucky along with an all motor 9 second Z06! huge fireball at the end of the run wheels up! Half track Lambo domination Here are the GoPro vids of my runs: I suck at driving with this clutch as far as launching goes. Solid disk 4 puck race clutch. Loves to bite, HATES to slip. So keeping the turbo spooled out of the hole is hard as shit, or I just suck. Driveshaft snapped in an unknown location on the last run of the day (typical).

except for the driveshaft breaking of course I think I'll be looking into this suspension brace to reduce wheel hop on the other forum. that and i'll keep $1200 on the side for a new CF driveshaft

That's a ZR1, which means supercharged, so it's not all motor.

Yes car was full weight and on street tires. You can tell because its in the street tire lane (right lane) in the pics. Left lane was for slicks and drag radials.
Its a 2009 135i AT FBO no meth running 40% e85. He is new to the DMV area and a really cool guy. This was his first or second time out to the track and every run he just kept getting faster. He started off around 12.1 and by the end of a few runs that 11.76 @ 120.7 made us all scream. Here is his slip. Whats crazy is that this was done with a 1.94 60ft!!!!!!!! |

My best time was a 12.01 @ 120mph on low boost, ~13psi w 2.2 60ft time, I can't launch worth Crap w my clutch, can't slip it. Felt real strong at 16psi on that 3rd video where I was ahead by 1/2car on the gtr, then misfired at the top of 3rd. Pissed. Next higher boost run broke the driveshaft. Interesting to see that slip Jake, I hit 97mph in the 1/8th against the gtr. Car has so much more potential. New tune is really rich, 10.8 - 11.2 so there is plenty of power left plus its not tuned for meth which I do have.
