My tire's tread depth is getting a bit too shallow for my comfort, what do you guys recommend as replacement if i want improved sportiness and grip but also be able to last reasonably long and could take some wear and tear from daily driving? Both RFTs or Non-RFTs is fine with me, (athough non-rfts might be cheaper, haha).

Speaking of noise, I heard that some tires with less tread pattern (and hence possibly providing better grip) can be be less noisy then tires with more tread pattern, but I could be wrong on this, anyone know?

The best extreme performance tires are great for handling, but those tend not to last very long. I am trying to find the right balance betwen providing the best sporty performance and being able to last for a certain X amount of time and be able to stand the pounding of daily driving.

Less pattern and the kind of rubber affects the sound ... Z1 is quite sticky but needs a bit of a warm up or it slides a bit... On wet weather... Bad. Lol

I agree. AD08 is quieter than RE11. But you have to be careful under rain.

Overall, if budget is not an issue, I would go for PS2 or PSS.

Some hints for PSS, per shingtek, PSS can last for longer than PS2 but the dry performance of PS2 is a bit better.

You have the 17" 45 profile so not sure if all the brands have your spec for max performance tires.

Tire shop suggest PZero, Bridgestone S001 to me other than the PS2. All about the same price. But eventually I chose Advan Sport. Cheaper than the other 3, good tread life, not too noisy and good grip.

reviews say same grip in dry between the two, but pss is better in wet!

Interesting suggestions, where is the reliable and relatively cheap source for these specific tires? Or is the price range similiar throughout HK?

My current tire is ContiSportContact 2 SSR, or actually that was the tire on the car when I bought it from the previous owner. The performance seems to be degraded somewhat by the time I started driving the car, but what about when new? I'm told that's max summer performance type tires, is that any good? How are the Continental tires?

Also, what is the HK price range for PSS and PS2? Where is a reliable source to buy it from? Or does it not have my size? If that is the case, what is the next best alternative? Thanks.

You should be able to get an idea how much the tyres are. I think the link shows RRP so I guess it would be a bit cheaper if you get it from a tyre shop.

definitely much more expensive
just got my tyres changed last week and the price is ~30% more on that website

How much did you pay for your tires? I'm just curious so I can have a ballpark figure of the price range when I go and buy the tires.

i would go non rft.

for summer tires i'd go with michelin super sport or bridgestone RE-11

Toyo Proxes is good too.

Thanks for the tip. Although since it seldom snow in HK, I stay with summer tires all year. You response and others seems to indicate Michelin as the best choice, although a bit pricey. Hmmmm...
