Anyone in Bay Area willing to sell/let me borrow front license plate tow hook?
Need a fix it ticket signed off on and a rho plate may not get here in time. Looking to purchase (or just rent... whichever).

appreciate it but already tried that route. 3 SFPD stations wouldn't accept that... nor would they accept zip ties to the lower grill. At this point I have to go legit

3m tape your stock plate holder on and then screw on your plate to the holder. The reason they wont sign it off because you need to have either 2 or 4 screws (i forget) shown holding the plate in place.

in the words of the po po - it needs to be "permanently affixed" in a fashion that prevents it from falling off. In her mind, apparently zip ties can break willy nilly.
Actual vehicle code: Positioning of Plates 5201. (a) License plates shall at all times be securely fastened to the vehicle for which they are issued so as to prevent the plates from swinging, shall be mounted in a position so as to be clearly visible, and so that the characters are upright and display from left to right, and shall be maintained in a condition so as to be clearly legible. Not going to argue with the damn police on what constitutes "securely fastened"... maybe if I was driving a Camry... |
