LCI tail light conversion

I am looking at my options to update my 2008 e93 tail lights to LCI tail lights.

I am getting really confused and I am looking for clarification, are e92 LCI lights compatible with a e93? Or do I need to source e93 specific lights?

I’ve read and been told conflicting answers and hoping to clear this up!

Help very much appreciated.

Cheers

E92 and E93 tail lights are specific to each model.

I recommend getting genuine vs aftermarket as ive seen too many people with leaks in the boot area for it to be coincidence.
Not all of them leak obviously but you have less chance of it occurring.

ECSTuning are offering e93 retro fit kits and individual e93 pre-LCI and LCI lights but they are extremely expensive! (with retro harness $835.63 USD!!).

Link to page

Original e93 tail light part numbers are 63217162301/2 (left/right outer), LCI updated part number is 63217252093/4 etc for example.

These are also flagged as OEM! but I think they can also be sourced cheaper from the OM non-BMW branded.

Still researching.

Those are the incorrect part numbers. They are the USA ones. In the USA cars can have red indicators which will not be legal here.

Correct ones:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/en/showpa...diagId=63_1190

63217252091
63217252092
63217252783
63217252784

Price up the kit from Schmiedmann, they sell genuine and DEPOT branded lights there.

Thanks Vince,

Yes they stock ULO "unoriginal, but in OE quality" LCI tail lights for e93.

For a complete set its around $822 AUD (525 Euro) without the harness.. pretty rich but the things we do for a face lift!

Can pick up a retro harness from ECS for $58 USD and I think FCP also sell them. Still takes the whole replacement cost to around $1K AUD so a pretty exe exercise.

You think that’s rich, look at the price for M4 GTS tail lights or M4 LCI 2 headlights

M4 gts rear tail lights are a whole new game lol. Love those led individual pieces inside the tail light. But yehp definitely not cheap. Probably 2k minimum per side, possibly more..
