If I used a radar I would want a dedicated unit. I already have my car's bluetooth and a BB Stereo Gateway connected to my iPhone so battery drains alot already.

And also this means I would have to keep the screen on all the time. Cool design but poor functionality, I think.

i would agree, but I thought it was worth sharing with the community. I do not see my escort 9500ix being replaced any time soon.

Also it looks like you found the neon filter in photoshop as well ( your avatar)....I just posted a picture of my car in the photo section. I found the filter last night lol.

I have been wanting an escort radar detector for a while now just been hesitant. Does it actually perform
well against police radars and more importantly lasers?

yeah I fond the neon filter..lol Thought I would try something I hadn't seen yet.

I have been very happy with the escort. It has great range and I love that it has the gps and locks out false alarms that I pass daily, or should I say my wife likes that as she hates the beeping..lol When it goes off I know it is a real trap and I have plenty of time to slow down. I'll be honest I went back and forth with getting the 9500ix or the valentine 1. I actually ordered the 9500i with the blue screen on sale for $350 and to my surprise i got the 9500xi in the mail...Yeah! I don't think they offer just the 9500i any more. I would like to get a valentine and compare the 2. I may do that down the road and give the one I like least to my wife. I think the arrows on the valentine 1 would be a big help, but then the false alarms would drive me and my wife crazy.
