Best way to remove the charge pipe accordian hose without damage?
So I am trying to determine the best way to remove the stock accordian pipe without cutting the metal clamp. As you can see in the picture below, somebody got too excited and cut into the hose. I want to preserve this component in case I go back to stock one day. Plus, it is not possible to buy this hose separately since it comes together with the charge pipe.
Most DIY people used a dremel. However, a lot of other FMIC DIY instructions said if you take a screw driver or pick, you can find the key and try to pry it up. Does anyone know how easy that is, or how difficult it would be without cutting/damaging the rubber? I am able to locate where this key is, and it appears to be best accessible from the top of the car looking down. thanks |

It's on the top side so you can't really get to the interlocking end on the passenger side. I use a dremel and have never cut through a coupler. Just pay attention and take your time.

This clamp should be one-piece welded together. I don't know of a place to "unlock" it without possibly crushing the pipe underneath. You will probably have to cut it off gently like Tiago said.

Kind of tough removing that charge pipe for the average person since it's attached to the turbos
The driver side clam can be removed with a flat head screwdriver by applying pressure under the seam where the clamp joins. |
