sounds like your battery is low. Do a load test on your battery. How old is your battery?

+1 on the battery. It is almost the only thing that will cause your symptoms.

+1 get the battery checked. It will do these things long before not starting.

i changed the battery and as soon as i drove off it went again.

i bought a voltage meter that plugs into the cigarette today it reads 14.5 then when the faults come up it reads up to 18.5 surely that is madness so could it be my alternator?

Hu, yes, have your electrical system checked asap, it's going to cause serious damages with this voltage.

Not sure in Northern Ireland. I would take it to your local alternator rebuilding shop. They can replace the voltage regulator for you.

if it's brake light, ABS, and Traction control thats on, its probably a steering sensor issue. Do this, start the car and while parked, turn the wheel all the way to the left, and then all the way to the right. This should calibrate the steering angle sensor.

Skidz had to change his alternator I guess (or at least the voltage regulator). I think you are facing a simple weak battery. Have your battery checked (for free at most places), and if it is not the battery, then only start looking further.
