Smile *Need Upgrade Advice for my 2008 328i Coupe*

Hey guys! I need upgrade advice from everyone. Just decided to fix up my 328i coupe. I already have:

- AFE intake
- Eisenmann Cat Back Exhaust

Anything else I might add as far as performance and exterior??

All suggestions are welcome and is greatly appreciated. I just don't know a lot about E92 upgrades.

Thanks!

I asked that question a few months back, Ended up going with an AA tune for performance and its worth it.

There are other performance mods you can look into but nothing too big, just bringing in my opinion.

That's pretty subjective. Not much we can o to determine what looks good to you. If you are simply clueless a to modifying cars and looking for a bit of sage advice I will tell you this: your car is black but please for the love of God, don't murder it out. Black car, black wheels, black tint, black roundels, black EVERYTHING. It looks terrible, is not original and is waaaay played out. That is all.

I take it you got the AFE CAI? Right off the bat the AFE CAI is worthless and you have now lost performance. The position of the CAI makes it suck in heat from the engine, which is NOT what you want to. The only thing you gained is a marginal performance increase at high speeds and the nice sound the intake makes. Your car will start to feel sluggish on take off, especially on a hot day, due to the CAI. Your best bet was to stick with the original intake, cut out the charcoal filter, and use a K&N drop in for the air filter itself. Other option would be to either go with a Euro intake or BMW performance, if you want to splurge a bit. Don't get me wrong the CAI looks nice and the sound it's sweet but it is not worth it, unless it is sound that you are after.

Don't know much about the exhaust so I cannot comment on that. As for as looks go, get some tints, a nice set of rims, and a decent suspension system. And for God's sakes take CombatNinja's advice and don't murder out the car, that just looks fucking stupid. Keeping it simple and clean makes you stand out in a positive way.

three stage intake manifold. you can definitely feel the difference in power above 4300 rpm. Not a whole lot more power (maybe like 10 +/- 5 hp), but I didnt pay much for my manifold so i think it was worth it. \ Also for my xi i got new lower/stiffer shocks and springs and it helped a lot. You would probably have similar results on your rwd car.. Hmmm as far as looks, new wheels with non run flat tires would help performance as well as looks. The lowering springs also help with looks in my opinion.

Look into an LED angel eye upgrade, the lux v3's were basically the first things I jumped on when I got my car - can't stand the ugly yellow looking stockies. There's lots of options for lighting. Interior LED's are a good thing to look into too.

New rims are also a big way to improve your car's appearance and feel as well, with non-RFT's. Coilovers are also again highly recommended for looks/performance.

Just some more things in terms of aesthetics, in random order - window tints, splitters, trunk lip spoiler, and m-sport rear.

I put the m-tech body kit on mine and I felt like I had a new car again (my wallet did too). There are some aftermarket ones but I think the factory m-tech or BMW performance look the best.

+1

Get light weight rims and non rft tires. The car will look, ride and handle better. There is no better value mod on 328 unless you get LSD. Then get AA tune if you are not installing 3-stage intake manifold.

Cosmetic parts - just don't buy cheap replica garbage parts made out of junk somewhere out there. Stick with quality parts, it's cheaper in the long run. Also Mtech steering wheel is a great upgrade.

3stage manifold conversion with the AA Tune. I have the aFe Intake with the AA Signature exhaust and i can feel substantial power gains with all the mods. As for looks, well you can just look a my signature for everything that i have done. if you have any questions about anything i have done just ask

Nice! All that's left is to get rid of those side markers!

If you want to improve the looks, get rid of those wheel for starters. Black wheels with a polished lip didn't even look good in 2008 when it was "in".

I appreciate your opinion. But I have to say, I have received plenty of compliments with my wheels with a polish lip. Now I understand that looks are highly subjective.
