Can't feather the throttle/ delay

Is it just me but it feels like the accelerator pedal doesn't seem to react very well?

For instance, when I push the throttle down, there's a noticeable delay before the engine kicks in. Or when I depress all the way to the floor there appears to be a bigger delay before the car launches into outer space?

Is this a feature or a problem? Most cars feel very 'connected' with my feet, but this one feels a bit artificial?

Cheers,
BMW

it is by design... but to us, it's an issue! BMS power box is what you need!

did you try the sport mode? normal mode is designed to conserve fuel.

Even on my manual 325i the lag was very noticeable before I got the BMS powerbox on. I guess whichever mode doesnt make too much different since I only have one "mode" on mine. lol

Yup, it's a problem the 323i faces. BMS powerbox fixed the issue for me. No lag and great throttle response. As far as I know, there's no options for different modes for the 323i

Agree there is a noticeable lag on the 323i after stepping on the throttle. As with the posters above, I installed the BMW Powerbox and this definitely improves the throttle response and helps to get rid of the lag. I drove my friend's 325i which is completely standard and there is still a noticeable lag on his car compared to my 323 with the Powerbox.

The 323i should have DS mode right? But kiss goodbye to fuel economy.
