Well it does for cars that have the CIC iDrive system, whereas the older CCC system is unable to play DVDs. This should be considered compatible with '09+ 3 and 5-series cars.
I'm also surprised the installation instructions state this is to be tapped in behind the hard drive/head unit. I figured it uses CANbus communication and can be tapped almost anywhere. Perhaps it needs to integrate along the bus comm leads of the actual device or module that it interacts with. |
