New BMW 320d M Sport ordered today!
Hi everyone, after some deliberation and test drives in the new Mercedes Cdi 220 Sport, the Lexus IS220d Sport and the BMW 320d M Sport (my work dictates i should get a 4 door 2.0L diesel saloon!) i have just ordered the BMW. Its the 320d M-Sport Edition model that is due soon. It comes with Leather, Bluetooth, Sat-Nav, 18" Wheels, Parking Sensors etc and i was able to get the Visibility Pack, Heated Seats, Lumbar Support, Tinted Glass, CD Changer, Hi-Fi Speakers, Mudflaps & Mats. Think thats it! From the test drives i really loved the drive and the looks of the BMW far more than the other 2 cars, anyway i thought the Lexus was a bit of an old persons car and the Mercedes more of a boys car and i didnt want another VW Passat which i have now.
Just saying Hello and open to any advise / information / details anything really from all you experienced BMW drivers of what to expect over the next few years! Lisa. |

Hi Lisa and welcome to the forum!
Nice choice of car which I'm sure you'll enjoy. MOST of the guys on here are fine, just got to watch out for the ODD dodgy one. |

Welcome to the forum Lisa. I think you've made a good choice. I find the Lexus is a bit cramped in side. Certainly much smaller than your Passat and the 3 series. The new C class is a nice looking car, but the BMW has a stronger engine. One thing I noticed is that you don't seem to have specified the USB connection. It's well worth getting if you want to connect an IPOD and unfortunately it can't be retro-fitted. Might be worth seeing if your dealer can add it. Anyway .. enjoy the car and watch out for Carlos Who is the "odd dodgy one" then Helen? |

New 320d M-Sport ordered today!
Hi
Sorry i forgot to say it is Titanium Silver, it only comes in 3 colours seemingly, Carbon Black (which was lovely, but i have a black Passat now and i vowed never to have another Black car, i have so many chips and marks on thepaintwork even though i am very good (for a girl!) at washing & polishing my car), Sparkling Graphite (ok, but i wasn't fussed on) and Silver, which i liked best. I did like a blue they had in other cars but it wasn't possible to get in this colour. ipod, i do have one but i thought the AUX - in socket under the armrest would be ok? is this not the case, i definitley want to connect it up. thanks for all you kind comments! i guess you maybe dont get many girls here! I look forward to Carlos by the sounds of it! Lexus, well it was quite a nice place to be and the Sat-Nav and audio/dvd system was fantastic, but it was just a little to comfortable, not very fast, and a gearstick that was quite hard to get into gear without a slight crunch! Lisa. |

You definitely want the USB/Ipod connection as an option on the car. It allows the IPod to be connected directly to the IDrive/Radio so you can control it through the steering wheel controls and via the radio. All the song/album names come up on display as well, which means you don't ever have to look at the IPod directly. Also, the sound quality is miles better than just through the Aux socket

Can't go wrong with a silver M-Sport, one of my favourite saloons....
And my family wagon, looks alright even at night and when filthy, I have had so many black cars and after a while I just want an easy life! |

Hi Lisa and welcome from me also. I used to have a 320d touring in TiAg, always looked fairly clean.
