I didn't realize you like to bump the contrast THAT much, unless it's the curves you're playing with!

It belongs to some Audi dealership -- I took the pic at last year's Waterfest. It's just a stock R8!

Oh shit, you go to waterfest?
what do you drive?
as far as editing, I use layer masks, and a combination of
curves, contrast, etc is used to liking, along with opacity,
which is done after I develop thru RAW..
I wouldnt say that much, because I didnt have the raw, I would Probably
did more, not so much can be done with jpeg.

I used to drive a MKV GTI and have been at Waterfest the past 2 or 3 years but I have an e92 328xi now.

And wouldn't you fix your curves, contrast, etc IN RAW, not after?

Thats Awsome, I went to the last 2, and last year
was my first H20i..
I guess everyone does it diff, I save plenty of jpegs from raw,
and layer mask the things I want after,
and if some curves or contrast,
selective coloring, gradients, are needed,
then I squeeze lil drops of whatever is needed..
I guess to each of their own, or
everyone got it different..
Like I till this day talk to this one great photog
who is amazing with pp, and he makes his photos make
mad complex to breakdown, and in reality
its very easy, while others that I told how i work
tell me its either hard, or either easy..

Like if i had that R8 raw,
my goal wouldve been to minimize
as much reflections as possible,
bring up the brakes, and lil more on tires..

I didn't put much thought into it -- just wanted to get the background effect. I'm not a heavy on extreme post work, mostly for the fact that I'm too lazy to do it or to learn to do it lol. I just correct colors and do touch-ups (like remove distracting trash on the floor lol).

I went to H20 2 years ago... Great show, got rained on. You got rained out last year too, right??

lol Rev you have no idea... i am waiting on my 335is diffuser from long, some sick project kics dual phase system wheel nuts from e92-lighting, and my lci tail harness from eas (they all should arrive early to mid next week). Then i'm pretty much done. the only other mod i have planned is the OSS blacked out headlights with their led rings, but that will be later in the year. and the only performance mod i'm missing is meth but i don't find a point to it because i barely drive it (3900 miles in 16 months), so i don't think i'm going to get it.

I'm actually really focusing on my e36 m3 vert right now though. I just completely replaced the convertible top and headliner, put replacement bavarian soundwerks speakers in, got some great condition vader seats, and did a complete cooling system overhaul. And I have a new exhaust and maybe wheels planned for next.

hopefully after all that, i'll calm down and stop spending money and start saving for my next car in a couple years

I used to be on Vortex religiously lol but I haven't been on since I sold the GTI. My username is kamek.

When I went two years ago, the event basically got rained out. Kinda sucks driving all that way and only being able to stay for a few hours lol

I was really big on the VW/Audi scene. Have you shot any nice dubs?

^ mm not bad... for some reason it seems like it still lacks luster for all that post work

i tried again with another photo, this time played with curves in both RAW and after RAW since you seem to like high contrast lol

though to me that's all too much processing... my approach is very different as you'll see in after i do a couple of shoots in the upcoming weeks.

i think dubs are great to shoot, especially because some are so unique

i do like your work though, keep up the good work

Well dont get me wrong, what I do its not as complicating as that,
nor is it as evil as that either, I mainly add contrast to the floor, and still
try to keep details, which is what counts, Im lil swamped with mad photos
im developing right now from last weeks Formula Drift, I literally developed
at the moment good 35 out of like another 800 more to look thru..
heres a teaser I posted like last week, not sure if you saw..

which pretty much I thru like 2 min worth of work too,
but the actual final copy today I minimized the reflections to as much
as I can, since I cant stand reflections, especially on black cars..
