Awful experience at Murray BMW of Denver
This is an email I wrote to the GM and have yet to hear a response. **BTW The sales manager Chris Neira is a complete jerk. He tried to sneak in the extended maintenance plan and so I spent 45 minutes going back and forth because the numbers kept being off. He self-admittedly said he was doing so because the dealership makes $600 profit off the plan and that he knew I would come back in a few years to trade-in the car so he wanted to re-sell the car with the plan. Afterwards, he tried to high pressure close me on EVERYTHING. I told him to back off because I was getting pissed so he apologized. Chris explained he was doing so because he had a $100 bet with a co-worker on how fast he could sell the car. This guy is the epitome of a dirty used car salesman. At this point I am warning others to not purchase or have a vehicle serviced at Murray!!!
Date: Thu, May 22, 2014 at 6:14 PM Subject: Sales Service Issue from a recent purchase To: rax.patel@murraymotors.c… Rax, I'd like to share the poor experience I've had thus far since purchasing a vehicle from Murray BMW. When I went to pickup the car and sign paperwork, the car was not ready. There was still spots of compound on the car from the detail job so I had to wait until it was finished. Then when I signed paperwork with the finance department, the lady forgot to have me sign the $500 rebate form. Since I had already left, she had to email me the form and then I had to fax it back to her. Another issue is when I went to put the floormats in my car- there were only three of them! I had to come back to the dealership to get a complete set. The final straw was when I went to the DMV last week (5/16) to purchase license plates. I waited two hours only for the woman working there to tell me I need to get an emissions testing. No one from your team cared to explain that this needed to be done! This should have already been done before I took ownership of the vehicle! What happens if the vehicle doesn't pass emissions? I contacted your sales team right after this happened, and nobody has cared to respond with a resolution hence why I am writing you. I have completely lost my patience thus far with Murray BMW. I especially feel this when I receive mailings and emails from Murray to purchase an extended warranty plan. I am customer of Bodyworks and had $8,000 in repairs from two accidents. Then I purchase a vehicle from Murray and this is the way I'm treated and the type of service I get? It was already bad enough when I felt like I didn't get a fair trade-in. I thought it would be ok because the service would make up for it. I couldn't have been more wrong. Please help me feel differently. I feel as though my business is unappreciated. Sincerely, Jon Last edited by J3; 05-29-2014 at 10:14 AM.. |

Man, bummer... That dealership really has gone downhill with the Sonic Automotive acquisition. I had great experiences there when it was locally owned and I think several others feel that way too in the Denver BMW scene.
Really hope they come back to help you out a bit and you are made to feel a bit better. |

I can see how it was like that before. The atmosphere there is so corporate and very transactional. Whatever happened to relationship based service and sales?

Manager Jason Harrison has tried to pay me off by offering me window tint for $250. Hah! Are you kidding me?? Just because you are giving me a discount on a crazy marked up service ($600) does not mean you are giving me a "good deal". It just means you're giving me an average market price that most shops will do it for! I have already received quotes for a similar price from local authorized retailers of the same tint Murray BMW uses. These guys are seriously something else- what a joke. They are so little of people and so corporate they feel they have to win at every point.

It's hard to believe the sales person admitted he fraudulently included the extra maintenance because the dealer makes money and that he had a bet with a co-worker...he's either the stupidest person on earth or I feel something fishy with your story.
The dealer is nice enough (IMO) to offer you such a large discount on the window tint...sure other places only charge fraction of what they charge, but in all honestly, that is what they believe is fair and no one is forcing anyone to get the tint done at there. |

http://www.yelp.com/user_details?use...au48AvOWKCMW1A Now you're accusing me of being a liar, which is outright rude and disrespectful. No one ever said anything about fraud, so now you're trying to twist the story and pull words out of my mouth. Of course no one is forcing me to get the tint there, which is why I refused their offer. I'd love to understand your affiliation with Murray since you've chosen to speak out and defend them so strongly out of your "feel". Regardless of what you "feel" or what the force tells you, let's see what BMW North America has to say. They left me a voicemail earlier today. Will keep everyone posted. I never accused you of being a liar. You're actually the one that twisted my words...
I am nothing more than a customer (rarely go to Murray actually) of Murray. I did not defend Murray or the sales person whatsoever. I was stating my opinions. There's always two sides to a story...and again I was simply stating my opinions Also, you stated they attempted to sneak in the extended maintenance...to me, that's fraud |

Last time I checked, sneak and fraud don't mean the same thing. If I meant to say fraud, I would have said fraud. But thanks for your two cents buddy... |

If I wanted to state a fact, I'd call them and get their side of the story...but I was just stating my opinion that was also not defending either side.
Sneak and fraud don't mean the same thing, right...but the act of sneaking something in without your knowledge, as you claimed they did, is fraud (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraud) Thanks for the entertainment...I'm done here Last edited by 16M4; 05-30-2014 at 07:58 PM.. |

Right because you don't state facts, you just state opinions based on "feel" on events you were never involved in. Even better, you use such credible sources as wikipedia to back up your opinions!
c'mon, don't stop Alfred! your two cents have been so insightful! |

From your responses here, it makes me believe you were overreacting toward the whole situation at Murray...I bet you're one of those people that think you're always right, customers are kings...I feel bad for Murray....

Alfred is just being a douche...hell, he probably works there. I had a similar experience trying to buy a CPO 335is. In the end I walked away. That place is the worst dealership I have ever been to! Stay away folks!

Damn it! Find...I work there. I love my employer too much and you shouldn't be talking about Murray that way. Next time though, don't be such a drama queen and get butt hurt cause you weren't treated like a queen, tough guy.

LOL, this is just comedy now.
I bought my car there and had a great experience....however that being said it was recently purchased by Sonic Automotive, and I have heard it has gone downhill since then. |

The Service Dept. at Murray really isn't anything like it used to be. A couple years ago I switched from Schomp to Murray because of all the good things I heard about service and Billy. He's the only SA there I trusted with my car. Since Sonic took over and Billy went to Schomp, it's a real joke to have SA's quote you $430+ just for a spark plug change and then offer Z-Maxx fluid treatment for an additional $100+. Offering snake oil shit that you can pick up at any auto parts store at a BMW dealership should be grounds for a serious ass whoopin'.
I'm back to Schomp for all of my dealership service needs. It's closer to my house and I know between the three SA's I've had service my car (Billy, Mike and Steve) that my car will get the treatment it needs without the need for stress. Having said that all of that, ar design is the first place I go for maintenance I can't accomplish myself. The money I've saved by avoiding the dealership with this car is insane and I know that Andrew will get it done right. If you can't trust the guy that put the first Single Turbo 335 on the road, who the hell can you trust?

$430 for plugs is outrageous. But, the plugs alone are over $100 from the dealer. I did it myself last time but had to learn the hard way by buying the plugs from them when autozone sells the same exact ones for MUCH less

If you pay me half of that, I will replace your plugs for you (but seriously, I will)

I had ar design do them. I'm getting a torque wrench and the spark plug socket so I can do them myself from now on though. Just annoying to get quoted so much for something so simple to change.

I won't be alive long enough to tell all my horror stories from Murray.
Thinking about them makes me angry
