i really hope&ask as many as possible to tell Cobb about v401 "problems" because i dont 100% WOT soon *because water pump and hpfp pump change took BMW dealer so much money from me *
The problems are not severe. Just possibly slightly rich running (unconfirmed)

Update to my logs. Ian said nowt to worry about per cylinder corrections unless is often multiple cylinders at same time, and with no actual misfires.

Next beta firmware will fix the issue I reported about cylinder timing vs correction logs being confused as to which cylinder they report. (1=1, 2=3, 3 = 5.)

I tried out v401 Stage 1 Aggressive LT last weekend, this was my first try of an LT map. I only have positive things to say really, foot to the floor and the thing keeps going right through the revs. It actually feels slower than ST but speedo says different . I noticed no running rich on cold start with this map, not that it was severe on ST but it was there of course. I'm looking forward to the next beta or final release of v401 that will be downloadable via the APM.

What made you think that you were running rich?

There are no tuning differences between v400 and v401, just the fix for the error code some were getting. The extra soot at idle on the tailpipes is odd though. I'll pass that info on to our calibration team though.

Hi Ian,

I ran V4.01 all of last week. I got to say I like V4.00 better. It is much smoother. I got no codes with both though. It was raining here in Oregon, so I ended up taking two pulls for ya. I also took two V4.00 pulls. I'll send you the logs later on tonight.

Maybe we are just 'enjoying' the tune a little. Personally I am not noticing or bothered by soot. but do notice alongside the upside of quicker response compared to v 301 that I perceive less mpg on constant but speed cruising. Say at 80 where i used to get easy 30 mpg is now close to 26. Maybe without realising it I am driving less conservatively even when I think I am.

I recieved word from the shop that my car/build/tune will be featured on www.motoiq.com

It's about time the N54 starts getting some respect in the automotive community and hopefully that'll help spread the word.

I went back to V301 I like the throttle response on the stg2+ aggressive maps better on that version the 400-401 feels tame to me.

Ian is there a big difference between the two? Besides feel? My 1/4 mile track times were pretty much the same when I ran the new 401 maps 12.5 and lower and 12.2's when i got 1.8 60's.

Today and some of tommorrow was/will be install. Its taking a little longer than normal for install because of the request i made to make it super clean/ as safe as possible should a leak occur. I'll be using a semi-concealed trunk mounted competition rated 4 gal fuel cell and the flow meter will be incorporated into the center console just in front of the shifter.

Hopefully(fingers crossed) We'll begin tuning early tomorrow afternoon and i'll have some numbers to share sometime tomorrow. Expect a full write up later this week.

Cobb, my air conditioning was way colder on 3.01 and my leather had a far better scent

Bump for ATR, I'm foaming at the mouth here!

I am running the Cobb V4.01 maps and experienced code 2A17 (DMTL diagnosis module tank leakage, system failure) and misfire on cylinder 4. I tried getting on it from about 2,500 RPM's in third gear and the car didn't accelerate at all then I threw a CEL and the car was shaking under throttle. I turned the car off at the next stop light and fired it back up and the CEL was gone as was the shaking.

Not sure if the new maps are to blame or something else but just wanted to get some input from you guys.

there are many threads about 2A17.

for the missfire is the usual suspects.

I did some reading on the 2A17 and I suspect a coil is to blame for the cylinder 4 misfire. I was just curious if others have had these issues with the new maps.

A little more soot, worse MPG and on cold start (actually cold outside temps) I swear I smelt fuel briefly.
