Another less "risky" option to look at is that alpina transmission flash if you have an auto.
Lol at the car is fast already.... I was jb4d within my second week of owning the car.. Been 10k miles since. Stock 335 is slow !!

And you weren't concerned of anything going wrong with it?

Just because something can go wrong doesn't mean its likely to go wrong. The n54 internals are way over built for what you are going to be asking out of the engine. Most of the things that will go wrong are wear items that will need replaced anyway you just might have to replace them a little sooner is all. There are tons of modded n54s and very few major problems as a result and most of them were people that track there car.

Although the ratios are the same, it's not the same transmission as the ZF in the 335i. Not sure at all; I think there's a discussion somewhere but no resolution.

I might do this tune. I went to a local shop and the owner was telling me he has a tune for my e93 that out performs the jb4, I forgot what it was called. It required sending my vin to Texas and getting the flash encryption back- something along those lines. 90hp and 120tq gains. Sound familiar?

I wouldn't mess with the transmission flash..you're stepping into a different court. My good friend is a head mechanic at an independent shop now and was at a BMW dealer. He has the same exact software and reading devices that the dealer has...yesterday I cleared my codes and removed the JB4, nothing came up at all on his system. This is if they are looking for it too. Rarely will a mechanic dive into your ECU either but you never know, they are always curious. The JB4 made my N55 335 M sport a new car, period. I have two years left of manufacture warranty and a CPO warranty...I plan to keep the tune in and for $500, it's easy.
