They took care of my dot matrix perfectly and stand behind their initial install with touchups and sometimes even redos if something goes wrong down the road.

if you're really worried about being pulled over for the front sides, you can go with a lighter shade on those...somewhere around 45-50% (or none at all if you don't mind a larger contrast).

personally, i went with 35% all around on mine (minus front windshield).
So here is the question... for those of you that tint 35%, how many of you have gotten tickets and did you tint the front? I appreciate all of the advice.

Refference:

California Window Tint Law

Windshield
Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield

Front Side Windows
Must allow more than 70% of light in

Back Side Windows
Any darkness can be used

Rear Window
Any darkness can be used

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In California, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.

From the outside of a vehicle, a tinted window will appear darker in vehicles with dark colored interiors, and the opposite in those with lighter colored interiors.

see what ray posted for the technicalities. i have not personally received any tickets for tint...but then again, it hasn't exactly been on the car very long. when driving, i make it a point to keep the sunshade open...call it a weak attempt at letting more light in the car in hopes of not getting pulled over

would appreciate more info on you tint % & what a light but noticeable % would be.. 20%?

Thanks!

I have 35% on everything but the windshield, including sunroof. I'm personally not worried about fix-it tickets as there are means to get them signed off but if you want to be on the safe side, stick to 50%, or just none at all.

I have 20% in front and I dont get hassle too much. Most cops dont just pull you over for that. There are usually other factors that make them pull you over

Let me put it this way, that "shiny gold thing" in the upper right corner of the pic has allowed me to go "ticket-free" for the last 15 years
