I did something wrong installing E85 wires. Need Help

Hello fellow members.....need some help figuring out where I went wrong. So here is my story.
So my car has been running perfectly fine till now. I hit 40k miles and had never replaced my spark plugs. So I replaced my spark plugs and oil yesterday, as well as installing my E85 wires. I took the car for a spin and I go the half engine light and the engine started vibrating like crazy! So I came home and read the codes and this is what came up.

28A0 No Description Found
2EFE Electrical fan, input signal
2F03 No Description Found
2EE0 Coolant temperature sensor, signal
2EF1 No Description Found

I deleted the codes and removed the JB4. Now the car is running perfectly fine and smooth again. So I know I didn't do anything wrong changing the spark plugs and oil. It has to be from installing the E85 wires....although I went over it like 10 times and I still can't figure out what I have done wrong. The only thing I noticed is that when stripping the green wires to twist them together, I had cut a few wires off with it. I re-did them now but haven't installed the JB4 to try again. Do you guys think that could have been the problem? Should I put it back in and give it another shot?

Is there anyone in the SoCal area that I can go to and have you look over what I did to check for errors? Has anyone had this experience before?

I am certain it's due to installing the E85 wires, because my JB4 was working perfectly till now.

I added a picture:

Can you post pictures of your JB4 harness? You definitely shouldn't have cut any wires other than the 2 green wires in the JB4 harness.

Sure I will post pictures, and I didn't cut anything besides the two green wires

I would verify that you have the correct end of the JB4 harness hooked up to the green wires, that the wires inside the wire nuts are wrapped together well and that you for sure got the pin in slot 21. The picture is from the back side, so keep that in mind. I also don't remember my wires being a light green like that. What year is your car?

Did you edit the setting with the JB4 interface?

Codes indicate misfires, etc. Did you mix in too much E85?

I didn't even put any E85 in the tank yet. Still on regular 91 fuel

If you look at the picture I posted and the picture on the install guide. I have the correct ends wired together. TO BE HONEST, the wires were not well stripped and wrapped originally. I cut them and re-did them, but havent re-installed the jb4 since i did that. You think that could have fixed my problem? I thought I would try on here to see if there is anything im missing before installing the jb4 and trying again. I for sure got the pin in slot 21, I checked over and over again!

I also did find it odd that my wires were a lighter green than the green wires in the instructions picture. But they were my only 2 green wires other than the CAN wire. So I figured they had to be the ones. My car is a 2011, and I bought the JB4 used. the JB4 is a good 3-4 years old. Because I have had it for 3 years and the previous owner had it for like 6-12 months. You think that has anything to do with it? Is my Jb4 too old and not compatible for E85?

I don't think those codes are directly related to your FF connector. If it was installed wrong the car would crank and not start. You can just leave the FF connector off installing the rest of the JB4 and it will work just fine. Or better yet try to do a datalog. With years old used parts who knows what you have to be honest...

Mike I tried disconnecting the plug in the back of the engine, and leaving the rest of the jb4 installed. But that makes no difference on how the car behaves. I still get the same problems either way. Do you think it could be because I didn't check the gaps on the plugs and just put them in the engine? Can my spark plugs be causing this issue?

What difference does having an older jb4 make? Aren't they all the same thing? Do you think my jb4 is too old and it isn't compatible with the e85 wires?

No! That I do not! I'm still running iso4, because everything was running perfectly fine. I never updated it.....you think that might be the reason?

Hey guys, so I guess Mike was right. This has to be occurring because of my spark plugs since I was driving the car hard without the JB4 and the same problem occurred.

So now my question is what could I have done wrong when installing the plugs? The only things I didn't do is check the gaps "Since I bought the BOSH ones which say they are pre-gapped" and I didn't torque the plugs when putting them in, I just hand tightened them.....

Any ideas? Thanks

You need to gap them to .024-.028" if you are tuned. Otherwise you will get misfires.

Go back and torque them to spec. I'm not a torque nazi but spark plugs are for sure one thing you want to make sure are correct

I didn't know about those before buying them.....how can I figure out which plug is bad? Should I just change them all?
