n55 xdrive Build. where to start?

My beautiful wife bought a 2011 bmw 2011 335i xdrive. She wants to build it. I want to do it once and do it right.

I am wondering where to start? What would you experts recommend? I was thinking downpipe and exhaust system first.

would like to get to 450/550 whp

Thank you for your time

Easy.

Suspension: KW coilovers depends if you are tracking it I'd get the V3 then.

Get some lighter wheels, 18" preferably. Run 225/40 on the front and 255/35 on the rear.

Then get a Cobb or JB4, preference is the key. A FMIC, chargepipe, DP, and aFe pro dry panel filter. Once you got those, get a protune if you get the Cobb.

Next would be a Stage 2 LPFP to run E50 mixed with 91 or 93(which ever you have there). Get the Pure Stage 2 turbo and boom, you'll reach 480-530whp.

Enjoy.

+1, same route I'm taking, no E gases here in Ontario so meth to supplement that.

+2.

I have to say the biggest improvement was suspension and tires. Car should have felt this way from the factory.

It would be pointless to add massive power on OEM brakes. Next stop after engine performance is brakes.

No need for BBK but a set of good pads and rotors will do the job just fine.

I have the same exact car. 2011 335 xi. Current upgrades are hawk HPS pads with stop tech drilled rotors, avant garde 19" wheels staggered. Sitting in my trunk ready for install is the VRSF catless downpipe, Injen cold air intake and BMW performance exhaust. Next is to pick the tune which I think I will either go with stage one or the JB4.

I also have the same car, except it's a special edition, so it already has a minimalist tune and a BMWPE, other than that, it's stock. I think this week, I'm going to put the alpina code on it, apparently it wakes up the auto shifting quite a bit.

You will LOVE the sound of the exhaust, but it is fucking LOUD on cold starts lol as loud, or louder than my hemi truck.

Don't bother with the stage 1, go straight to a JB4.

Thats what I was leaning towards as well. Go big or go home. Any comments on either Cobb V3 or the JB4?

Cobb you get OTS maps. They're okay but conservative. Personally, I'd get a protune if you get the Cobb. I love my V3, I just chose it for the ease of things. Maybe down the road if I get bored, I'll get a JB4.

i'm rocking the alpina flash. definitely a great mod to have. i don't know about waking up the shifting. or what exactly that means. but it makes the shifting faster. takes the lag out. even stock at WOT, the car would shift a good 300 rpm later than requested/input. modded just exaggerated that. so if you want to keep power on and not lose it like you did with stock....alpina is key!
