Well, that's WAY bigger.

I wish I read the books, but working for a large publisher, I usually only read our own books a). so I know what I am dealing with b). they are free. We publish almost all of GRRM's other books, so I might have to break down and read one that's not ours. For research, of course.

This differers in the show vs book.

The child with Gilley in the show is Crasters.

I'm watching the series again from the beginning. Half way through the first episode I already noticed so many clues that most of hs may have missed.

When the Stark family was about to kill the dire wolves, Jon Snow mentioned that it is the symbol of the Stark House. Could represent that maybe someone will always be there to help them in times of need.

Jon also said "there are 5 wolves, one for each of the Starks." Someone else asked "what about you?" and Jon said that he is not a Stark. (?!!!) Then as he was walking away he noticed another pup and it's all white (Jon SNOW). Someone remarked that it was the runt of the litter.

Knowing what we know now, it makes perfect sense. So much symbolism!!
