What's better for the track?

Going for a square setup on my xi. Either 245/35/19 or 255/30/19. Which is better for tracking?? Lower profile or higher??

Going down to 18's and even 17's will be TONS better if you want to go on the track.

I honestly don't think 17's will fit over my front brakes... the stock 18's barely have room, but they do tend to "curve inward" a lot. I would say wider is better if you are staying square.

ApexRaceParts sells 17's that will clear BBK, so yeah, it is doable.

OP, assuming both sizes fit without rubbing or other problems, I'd go with the lower profile. 255/30/19 has about 3/4" less OD then the other, resulting in faster acc and better braking performance, but PERHAPS also quicker steering response and more steering feedback.

Despite more grip, if clearance of 255s might be an issue, then I'd go down to 245/30 or even 235/30, ultimately keeping the OD lower.
