Have you looked into the running costs yet (I know the running in service was free), is it time or mileage based for service intervals ? I run the same brakes on my M3 and replacement front discs/pads are £1400 direct from Brembo, I dread to think what Nissan will charge with their cut and labour on top, £2Kish without the rears ?? I doubt you`ll run it long enough to get to that stage anyway.
Hi Mike and thanks for comments! My optimisation was FOC and was done over a week ago now. The next service is 6k but its pretty cheap considering - about £300 i think they quoted me. i think the service intervals are every 6k or 6mths. The biggest service is about 24k i think they said. In terms of brakes - yep they are mega expensive, but then again they are MEGA awsome brakes so you have to accept if you are running the ultimate in technology and performance that you have to pay for it, or dont buy these sort of cars i guess!! As you said, i very much doubt i will have the car when it comes to changing larger items like brakes, so im not hugely concerned anyway!!!

I suppose 6K isn`t too bad when you think that the earlier Evo`s were 4.5K miles.

Great car Steve

BTW LC doesn't void the warranty. UK cars have a modified Launch Control (which is apparently faster to 60) which minimises rear wheel hop (hence faster launch), but reducing the revs when the clutch is dumped. The rear wheel hop is what what was breaking gearboxes in the US. And then again only with repeated use. Saying that some people have struggled to use LC due the clutch overheating.

It's VDC which you can't turn off (unless in snow / mud etc) without voiding warranty - although that's strictly not true. It's more a case of the thing breaking BECAUSE of VDC being off.

Funny thing about modding with the ACCESSPORT is that my HPC (Nobles) are selling them ,the GTC Ti Exhaust and a whole lot of other mods, fitted from delivery

To clarify - i meant (quite obviously!!!) twenty four thousand MILES and not pounds!!!! You big goons!!! Bloody hell, even Carlos knew what i meant!!!!!

MisterS3 - ive no idea how i would go about initialising LC so its not a problem for me anyway, but interesting that using LC does NOT void warranty as thats all you hear about these days with these cars!!! Also, ive not encountered one single situation yet where i would have needed the extra assistance of LC from the lights/standing start - ive found it ballistic everytime in normal mode!!!

Can you also explain what "accessport" is or does???

Steve

You need to talk to these guys http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/n..._servicing.asp

They are very well known in the Subaru Scene, they import a load of JDM specific cars. They brought the first gtr into the UK and have been developing a servicing / performance packages.

The servicing costs looks very cheap and as long as they use approved parts (which they do) there wont be any warranty issues.

I wonder how much the Alcons are ?

Thanks Bob - but my car has already been introduced to Iain Litchfield!! She went down last week to have the Miltek Y-Pipe fitted!! Great guy and impressive outfit down there. Wish he was closer. That said, im still not convinced that it wont invalidate my warranty if i dont use a main dealer. Will look into it though. Thanks again Bobster!!

Its something to be wary of, but an EU directive was passed, effectivley saying it was illegal for a manufacturer to force you to use a franchised dealer. So as long as approved parts, oils, filters and the service mechanic uses the correct process then there will be no difference and your warranty stays intact.

The only problem with the above is that as a buyer of a car, i've been conditioned to ask for Full Dealer Service History, whereas I should be asking for a Full Service History using approved parts.

If I was buying a used GTR and it had been serviced by a non HPC then the only stamp I would consider would be a Lichfield stamp ....

You know you need a power upgrade and bigger brakes ......

No Will and have all but given up, especially now that we are house hunting as this takes up most on my spare time. However, sharing one car is starting to be hard work so I'll need to get something sorted soon.

been researching, seems Cobb do an ECU flash for $900. With a full titanium exhaust and 100cell cats you can be knocking on 600HP!
