3" drop and ride quality don't go in the same sentence. I just installed some KW V3's and they are a little low for my taste at fairly high settings and I'm almost tucking tire in the back. The front is even with the fender and I could probably go an inch lower. This is all with stock wheel/tire heights.

There are not a lot of choices for the 335xi. The KW coilovers are known for their softer ride compared to some others. Look into the ST coilovers, they are a sub-brand of KW, and have the same settings and a bit lower build quality (but much cheaper).

3" drop is a LOT. Didn't even know you could go that low. Realize how much an extreme drop is going to compromise the driveability of your car - getting into driveways, speed bumps ... and it will especially suck in the winter. I would go for 1" front and rear to start, then lower as needed. 1" drop looks good on these cars.

There are not many choices available for the Xi models and those that are available will not allow for you to drop your car 3". If ride quality is something that is important to you, my recommendation will be the KW V3 XI system. The KW V3 will allow for you to adjust not only the height, but will also allow for you to adjust both the rebound and compression characteristics.

The rebound damping primarily, controls pitch and roll of the vehicle, especially in the low speed damping range which directly influences handling and comfort. Therefore vehicle can be adjusted to the needs of the driver, making the ride variable from comfortable to sporty and stiff, both with improved road handling.

The compression characteristics are adjusted utilizing a new, patented valve at the lower end of the damper casing. The unique low-speed pressure adjustment is the decisive feature of this technology. In this absorption area the handling of the vehicle is greatly influenced. An increase in the damping force supports the vehicle even during compression, thereby preventing pitch, roll and notably improving cornering behavior.

KW V3 XI Drop Rates:
Front: 0.6"-1.8"
Rear: 0.6"-1.6"
