Increased battery discharge
This warning has come up twice on my 330d E92 in the last week.
It is 3 1/2 years old and never missed a beat - but for the last 6 weeks has only done 100 miles and been moved a fair bit in the drive. I am guessing the lack of use and moving it about has drained the battery a bit. Anyone had the same - given it's lack of use. I have never seen the warning before but the car was used at least once a week if not a lot more. |

I had a similar problem with mine, battery goes flat after leaving my ignition in for 10 minute with radio turned to mute and heaters turned off! Been to two different bmw dealers and not one has changed a thing! I personally think the battery is not to bright! They did tell me I was doing lots of small journeys, I was like I do about 26 miles a day minimum from my girl friends to my work, so it can't be that.
Also had this message appear when I wired my tow bar to the wrong connection above the battery! Unless you have wired something up recently it's possibly the battery getting weak due to lack of use and or the cold weather which is slowly working its way upon us. |

I had this when I was installing my alpine kit. I had the roof up and down quite a few times during the day and has the stereo on whilst I was setting it up. After half an hour driving around it was fine again.
Get out and drive it more. 100 miles in6 weeks, I think I've covered about 2k in that time |

I am guessing it is lack of use ... I gave it a good run today so will see. Looking at other posts on the internet it seems the battery is, indeed, not the strongest item on the 330d !

I had this yesterday on my 335i, did not drive the car for a few days and the low battery light appeared. I put it down to the cold mornings and my battery being on the way out.

I started seeing this warning today. Coincidentally, it was also the coldest night since I've owned the car. I'll throw a battery charger on it tonight and see what happens.

Sounds like battery issues guys, with AGM batteries if they don't get a great bit of use especially in the cold they can dip below 'starting threshold' of about 30% charge.Car will still start but you'll get that message. They need a deep cycle charge with an AGM safe charger or a change in 'driving profile'

I had this problem and it was the pulley belts from the alternator etc! They snapped last week. I was having the battery light show up after 20 seconds of the key left in the ignition. Had them replaced by BMW and the demisters now work, lights work when I open the car, seat goes up and down etc. worth checking.... I got my car back 3 days ago and all seems fine but still got an issue with the screen flashing on start up but hopefully will go after a longer run in. Good luck
