Is there anyway to disable Hot/Cold Protection on JB4 tunes?

Just wanted to see if there was a way of bypassing the hot/cold protection for the tune?

Just got the tune and am still learning all the features of it, Can't find if this is available,

The reason I ask is mostly my trip to work is very short, I doubt if I'll even get oil temps past 160 lol, (seems like my 335 takes forever for oil temp to climb)
It might be because I have the BMW Performance power kit installed on the car too with the optional oil cooler and cooling fan upgrade,

I don't intend to race the engine directly after startup but I just feel I wait quite a while for the engine to get up to temp for the tune to work

Not that I know. I've never seen it, and there is nothing on the options spreadsheet.

Figured I'd ask,

Haven't been daily driving my 335 yet so maybe it won't take so long to heat up after I actually get some experience with the car, I've only just bought it this week
I just wanted to see if I could feel the tune a little sooner,

I'm not sure how conservative the protection on JB4 tunes are but... you're playing with fire if you get in the habbit of romping on the car before oil temps hit 160-180, especially when tuned. Just my .02

You could always adjust your commute to be a bit longer so you can have more fun with it

You can set it to use water temp instead of oil temp.

No I totally understand why its there and respect that,

The plan wasn't to murder the engine after startup
and as for intake cake I might take the intake manifold off and have a peek,
The car has a nice young engine, Only 30k miles,

But if theres no way around it then fair enough, I was just asking

FUD = 100 disables the oil temp warmup safety feature.

Feel like a bit of an idiot Mike but where do I select that option?

I have a USB cable attached to my JB4 is this something you do with a laptop or can you use the steering wheel buttons?

Still learning how to use this thing

wait... what?

if the oil isn't even getting hot, then it will steam less, which means less oil vapor in the intake, which means... less buildup on the valves

you can have issues with exhausts rusting out etc from not blowing out condensation, and oils that don't heat up may take on a little water... but it's not gonna increase valve deposit

Thanks,

Id assume windows only?

Is there anything else that I would benefit from in doing this myself?

I seem to be late to the party on this whole JB4 thing,
I have no idea about it or what I can do with it,

i just need to know what pertains to me and what I need to do to fix it

and if it helps I have the new JB4 G5 ISO with a usb adapter coming out of it

Boost on fuel gauge
Corvette gauge sweep on start
Flashers warmup signal
( useless if you disable protection)
Throw it on map 5 auto tune
Add some E85
Do three WOT pulls in second or this gear when no one is around.

Do you need someone to hold your hand while you pee?? Help yourself find the information you need and maybe you won't feel "late to this whole jb4 thing".
Also over there, there is a thread for the jb4 Mac app and iOS app. Pretty awesome stuff!
