My warranty is just about to expire next month, does anyone know where to get the best deal/ package?
Some where located in Northern Cali preferred.
my car is a 2010 335i non cpo :[
is the maintenance and mechanical warranty worth it?
my SA recommended me getting a mechanical warranty so i dont have to worry about the clutch, water pump, thermostat and all the other common 335i problems..
so is the maintenance one worth it as well? (brakes, oil changes, etc)
any help will be appreciated thanks! im on a time limit i got only about 30 days before my warranty expires

the used car dealership(non bmw) that i bought my car from lied to me and said my warranty wasnt up until end of 2015 but then i checked with BMW and they told me they were wrong :/ fucking assholes.

the SA is correct Mechanical warranty is a good one to get
maintenance isn't worth the price at all

Thumbs down Unsuccessful Jeff

Instead of taking a hit north of $1000 to get the water pump replaced, I only had to pay $50. This may not happen to all of us, but I am sure glad that I decided to pull the trigger for piece of mind...because it proved to be a great decision here! Immediate pay back.

So, as suggested by others, I emailed Jeff Steel at Passport BMW and he saved me quite a bit (read significant). He answered my emails promptly and actually was at his phone and answered second ring and gave me all the details, options, and answered all of my questions. I cannot give you the price as per Jeff’s request, but do yourself a favor and contact him. He wants to take care of people on this forum, and serve BMW enthusiasts.

I did contact one other person mentioned in this forum, and got an email back, but never a quote or a follow up. Jeff’s replay was in a couple of hours. So, do yourself a favor and contact him if you are interested in a BMW EVP plan for your car.

Oh, by the way, this was for a 2011 328i. Each car will have a little different price. Just go to the dealer, get your quote then compare with Jeff’s. You will use Jeff as I did.

Yes it does depend on what State you are in. Jeff quoted me a good price and tried to get me an extended warranty through his services but was unsuccessful and BMWNA advised him to send me back to my local dealership to obtain an extended warranty. After 3 weeks of trying he ended up refunding my money back. Not everyone can get the "good deal" Jeff is able to offer.

I'm curious... was there a specific reason he had informed you about why your car was specifically rejected? I know I was worried and contacting my local SA's at Edison and JMK to make sure the CPO extension went thru into the BMW system (It took about a week and it was near a holiday weekend to boot, so it's understandable). It also makes sense to me that it would take a while if there are complications. Actually Jeff was straight up with me on the phone as well when i first spoke with him, he told me that he would contact me if there were any issues with doing the transaction... but ultimately BMW has to approve it (Not Jeff, Jeff just puts in the paper work).

All I know is that I'm a real person and I own my CPO 335, my extension went thru with no issues so far. I just hope you don't come back and tell us the reason is something silly like, "Well my car is stolen and BMW NA refused to extend the warranty cuz it was written off by the insurance companies as a total loss..." or "The car belongs to a buddy of my g/f and I'm borrowing it and since I'm not the legal owner of the car BMW NA refused to extend it..." or or better yet, "dude, I smuggled the car in from the eastern block countries and it's a grey market vehicle and BMW NA said the car doesn't belong to this market..."

Let us know the reason so we know what can and can't be extended?

But in all honesty, try a different person if Jeff wasn't able to get it done for you. Based on my interaction with Jeff... I would be highly surprised if he didn't provide you another solution if he couldn't do it himself. This guy took a long time to talk me thru how warranties work and it just doesn't fit the profile of the guy I spoke with/worked with to leave you high and dry. I'm sorry if it didn't work out for you... but your experience is a far far different outcome then mine was. But who knows... maybe its a blessing in disguise for you??? Maybe u won't have any issues with your car and this was karma stepping in to save you some money?

Only vehicles within the original 4/50 factory warranty are eligible without a pre-existing condition inspection. You will need to see your local dealer for inspection and BMW powertrain plus options.

Guys, I need your opinion on if this is a good deal or not for the extended warranty I was offered from the dealership. What are your thoughts?

- Im located in S. Florida incase that affects pricing.
- 84/100,000 = 4130.00 PLUS TAX, PLATINUM
- 84/100,000 = 3720.00 PLUS TAX, GOLD
- 84/70,000 = 3730.00 PLUS TAX, PLATINUM
- 84/70,000 = 3370.00 PLUS TAX, GOLD

It depends...It's all relative to your current mileage & age of the car. That's how they choose the terms/pricing. What's your mileage/year & model?

Its an '09 335... But bought it in July of 2010 with 0 miles, so the car has relatively low miles and in great shape.
Miles are around 45K +.... So not yet 50K and have about a week left in my warranty.

Ive been told that the max for an extended warrant is $2600, however I don't think that is accurate. Im just wondering if these prices sound right, if its a good deal, and if others have gotten something similar. Looks like @rohitsja did which is a good sign I guess.

I would like to add that I was in a conflict with a buddy at work (drives M3) who initially thought I paid too much but then he was considering quotes from the dealer which were a few years old.. obv BMWNA increased their prices... just to make it clear - i got that in Apr 2013 from Leith BMW in Raleigh.

Are you adding 84/100k to your existing year/mileage...or will this warranty take you up to a total of 84/100k?

I have an 09 335 as well. Back in April 2013, I bought the platinum for $3700 for 7yr/72k additional coverage. I had 28k miles when I purchased the warranty in 2013, so I'm covered until 2020 or 100k...whichever comes first.

FYI to all, there are no 7 year warranties on a 4 year old vehicle. A BMW 84/100 ESC adds 3 years to the original 4 year factory warranty and a total of 100k miles, whichever comes first.

LuxeFilms was able to purchase a Fidelity 72m/72k warranty because his BMW was under 30k. Fidelitywarrantyservices.com coverage has large cost increases at 30/45 and 60k. 5 of 7 local dealers here use BMW ESC and Fidelity.

So now Im curious... Would the 7 year timeframe start on the date the car was purchased... Or when the car was delivered on lot?

My main question with this extended warranty for you guys is... Does the pricing below look about right for full coverage?
And is there anything overly important that would not be covered in either of these warranties that I should know about?
Finally, would you guys recommend getting these warranties if your car was at 45K and would have about 3 years under one of these plans?

- 84/100,000 = 4130.00 PLUS TAX, PLATINUM
- 84/100,000 = 3720.00 PLUS TAX, GOLD

Feedback would be much appreciated... Thanks.

84 mo is from the 1st time the car was sold - for instance in my personal case, my car had a sale date of Oct 19, 2009 (for the 1st owner) so 84/ 100,0000 for me would expire on Oct 19, 2016. (irrespective of the fact that I bought the car in 2013.)

And yes the prices, if from a BMW dealership, they look fine.

Hope this helps !!!

If the warranty you bought was from a BMW dealership - you just probably did not read your contract right.

The same thing for me expires in 2016 (have on 09 as well.) 7 yrs from 2009 and from 2013 when I bought the warranty.
