Arrow BMW Model Year 2011 starting March 2010 for 3-series, M3, Z4, 7-series

As reported on E90post Homepage.

Just learned a few things via BMW Military Sales:

From March 2010 production forward, the following models will be designated model year 2011
  • 328i
  • M3 (sedan, coupe, and convertible)
  • 335is convertible HP version
  • Z4 sdrive35i (most likely a HP version as well)
  • 7-series

I am very curious to see what else will be coming up!!!!

Or maybe this is all old news, no clue, just wanted to post it.....

*keep in mind that this is Military sales related info and may actually be different from BMWNA's schedule.

At this point the concept of "model year" is a complete formality. Some people are very keen on what year exactly their car is... I found that to be mostly irrelevant.

2021 M5 Competition  [0.00]
2016 BMW 550i  [0.00]
2011 335is  [0.00]
2009 E93 M3  [10.00]
2010 335d  [9.50]
It plays into the depreciation factor. As soon as a new model year hits, the previous model year cars take a hit in depreciation, devaluing their cars more if the model year cycle gets truncated.

Yes, a car is a depreciating asset, but shorter model year cycles mean the cars devalue faster, which in turn, will start affecting residuals for lease/BMW select programs, and will affect car values overall.

The E92 might get LCI, and the N55 engine sinlge turbo might get thrown into the E92 aswell.

Does the MY 2011 for E90/E91 start in March 2010, or just the E92/E93?

Don't think they'll bring out the N55 yet, but LCI would be cool.

Does anyone know what the cut off date would be to order a 2010? Not sure I am feeling the new E92 LCI assuming that will be implemented on the 2011.

I think I saw December 18th on another thread for the Special Order cutoff.

Cheers,

I'm assuming the dealer should know. Mine showed me that the production allotments for the coupe (where I live) were all taken up except for 1 until February production. He did not know I wanted a 2010, as I didn't want to give that away; he just wanted to give me an idea of time interval between order and delivery (for cars not on the lot).

That basically made up my mind to order it now.

For the M3, too, huh? That's a surprise, unless it means just the E92 (facelift). We'd heard previously the facelift for the E92 would be in March, single turbo on the 335i, and that would be considered MY11. Maybe since they are changing the x35i engine, they're changing model year designation for all impacted cars?

The E92 WILL get LCI and the N55 single turbo will LIKELY be in every 335i. It is currently for sale in the Gran Turismo here on our lot.
