I'm on Rotora OEM replacements! I chose slotted instead. Exact same OEM specifications. Here's a pic:

Rotora has cross-drilled & slotted, slotted and plain.

Cheers!

Slotted/dimpled replacement rotors here. Roughly $525 for front/rear shipped. The vendor offered ceramic pads for $20 extra however, ceramic (through this company) is only available for the rear, I believe.

I installed them this past Friday and am really impressed how much easier the car comes to a stop .......... I am VERY happy.

Those are looking nice, are your sure it stops better (could this just be another butt dyno result)? It's hard to believe that only rotors would make noticable difference.

I will probably order EBC turbo groove rotors for my car

Did you install those by yourself? If so was it hard, any pointers or instructions how to install?

BTW: did that shop repair your car well?

^^^ Those rotors look great! ^^^

The biggest PIA was my having to raise the car and RR one at a time. About 15 minutes per wheel after removing wheel/tire etc.. You'll need a C clamp, 18mm wrench to remoive the calipers and a 6mm hex/allen wrench to remove the hub. Fairly simple.

After a couple of days for the "break-in" period I brought the car to a full stop from nearly 80mph. Same stretch of road I use for acceleration/stopping tests in the past ..... (I have a couple of my previous test stops marked w/ spray paint) After the install the car came to a complete stop almost 6 feet shorter than with the stock rotors. I tried this 3 additional times and was consistent. This with the original stock pads in place.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself. I'm my own worst cynic.

Side note: Car turned out ABSOLUTELY perfect. The M hood was my biggest concern but turned out to have a near perfect fitment and took to paint better than I had expected. Very happy indeed. Here's a couple links to the only pics I have taken since getting the car back. Not the best quality but, better pics coming .......

Ok, taking wheels will be needed anyway soon when I hit the summer wheels on, so changin these will go same time.

If the conditions have been same before and after 6feet reduction is amazing, hopefully I have same kind performance from mine.
I am also very cynical about power(etc.) gains on these "little" mods

Will you change pads to some better performance also?

Glad they did good job and that M3 hood looks good

Thanks man!
Yeah, I really wanted to go with the ceramics for the performance but also for the fact that there is sooooo much less brake dust with their use. Stop Tech (or Tek?) are the pads I'm eyeing at the moment. Lots of pads available ......... do you happen to know if the M3 brake systems are interchangeable with ours?

Somebody asked that will M3 system fit in "Suspension and Brakes Discussion" forum and the answer was no they don't fit unless you have some M3 parts that they bolt on.

I think I am not buying new pads until originals are worn out.

Sure.
Total weight of the replacement rotors is 51lbs. according to the shipping label. I am unsure as to the weight of the OEM rotors.

I suspect they would be about the same weight as they are virtually the same not withstanding the slotted/dimpled style of the aftermarket.

Thanks.
I was just curious and was hoping that these rotors would help with the rotational weight.
You could weigh one front and back rotor to find the total weight of the OEM Rotors....?

Okay, used a scale ......... strangest thing I ever had to borrow from a neighbor ........ stock rotors weigh in at 64.4lbs. A difference of about 13.4lbs from aftermarket.

Thanks for bothering the neighbor, I guess we owe you a beer.
That is a pretty significant weight change!

Does your car feel a little more light-footed?

I was surprised with the difference in weight as well. The 51lbs for the aftermarket is including packaging so maybe just a bit less for the rotors themselves?

The only feel I know is different with the car is the distance to get her to stop ........ much improved.
