Window Tint

Hey guys,I just got another ticket for NOT having a front plate and Window tint...

just wanted to see if any one in Los Angeles has got a ticket for tint and if theres a way to get it signed off without removing them?

also has anyone had an experience where the officer didnt bother coming out to check if they were removed?

Thanks!!

I have heard...not sure if it is true, but if you can get an eye Dr to say you need tint for your eyes, you can keep it and or have it darker than is the legal limit for your state. Again I have no idea if it is true, but I have read it on several forums...

yeah i've also heard of people doing that for skin issues and other things but i dont know if my doctor would be willing to help me break the law!

my friends have told me that for them the guy didnt even come out and check
im not sure if not removing them before going is worth the risk
(if i take them off im putting them right back on after i get the ticket signed off)

But then they'll be able to see your rear corner windows are tinted same with your rear window lol you just have to hope they don't come out and check. But then again what's the worst that could happen if they come out and see that they're still tinted?

I'm in Oregon and I'm dealing with a tint ticket as well... different police departments have different policies. The county I live in has a fix-it ticket day that you come in and an officer is assigned to evaluate and wriite a statement of compliance to the court.

However the city where my ticket is from says to just bring photos or a note from a tinter.

I'm debating on tracking down another similar colored car with no tint or lighter tint on front windows.... or seeing if my tint guy will let me buy a gift card for the cost of redoing my windows.... should I get a second ticket... and seeing if he will write a letter to the court for the first ticket that basically says... This person has appeared at our shop and did in fact pay to have the front windows re-tinted to comply with the law.... it's free money with no cost or labor unless and if I someday decide to re-tint.

I can confirm this is true in RI but a bit of a pain. A buddy of mine has his car pretty much blacked out out...including the windshield. You have to apply for a permit with a bunch of paper work. Your eye doctor needs to sign off on your condition. Then it goes to a board to approve or deny your request. It's not something they just hand out.
