BMW E92 REMAP - Advice

Hi I am looking to remap my E92 BMW 320d Coupe which is current at 177bhp I believe. I just wanted to know of any potential disadvatnage or issues of doing a Remap. I believe the originial ECU settings should be copied as a backup before carrying out the remap right? Is there any advice that you can give me what to look out for.

Also what type of remap would you recommend - Economy vs Performance?

Thanks

What is a REMPAR. ???

If you get an off the shelf map from a less reputable company then you're unlikely to have your original file backed up which means you have nothing to go back to.

If you go to a proper company that provides a tailored map specifically for your car then they will have a backup should you ever need it.

Most companies will restore your map free of charge if you need to run through a service for example.

I would definitely suggest going for a performance map. Not that there's much in it but why are you remapping the car if it's not to gain additional performance ??

I've sent you a PM with a bit more info as well fella.

I had my 177bhp done by Simon at Emaps. He does a full diagnostic before and takes the car to 212bhp and 425nm of torque.

I've had it for 6 months now......no down sides unless you count fun driving and lots of smiles!

Another vote from me for emaps, had mine done a couple of weeks ago and it's like a new car. I had been thinking about it for years and now wish that I had just gone ahead and done it when I first bought the car.

You'll get change out of £350.00,and you'll be hard pressed to get a better map,or a better Guy to do it for you.

The Guy's (Simon) a legend in BMW circles,no-one comes close

E-maps won't give you rr runs and printout and spend a bit less time perhaps than the bigger tuning houses but the counterbalance is one of cost. I'd happily recommend Simon but also stand behind the information I pm'ed as first course of action (hiiiii Kerr!)

I've always been one to prefer independent dyno before and after anyhow!

You don't need a RR,nor printout, you WILL always get what Simon states on his website, which more often than not will be more than other companies promise.

Simon also won't map a car that has fault codes that he can't sort out, and will do what anyone else does including spending as much time with you as is required.

Simon is also much more competitive on price than 99% of other companies.

Why go anywhere else,in fact you don't need to go anywhere,Simon will just come to you!

No brainer
