Question When is the Lincoln Tunnel (outbound) bad in the AM?

Hey guys - never attempted to leave the city during work hours before but tomorrow morning I'm going to have to go from manhattan to weehawken - need to be in weehawken by/before 8:30. What should I expect as far as lincoln tunnel traffic in the morning?

Thanks!

I take the Lincoln in every morning. You only have one lane on 495, traffic is relatively light until 8 I would say.

That being said; take the ferry.

Thanks for the heads up - I actually have to drive because I'm going straight from Weehawken back to Philly (only in the city tonight). That said, I plan to be IN the tunnel before 7:30, so hopefully I'll still be in the "relatively light" category.

Thanks again!

its not bad, but outbound turnpike has 1 less lane. they actually turn that into an inbound lane for buses only to help alleviate traffic. but it's not bad unless there's an accident. i'd play it safe and leave earlier than necessary. worst case you come to the nj side and grab breakfast somewhere.

depends what time before 8am is moving traffic but then everyone is trying to get in and out of the city for work so it becomes bad.

well if you're going straight to philly, just hop on turnpike south and get off at one of the rest stops for breakfast. nothing really in weehawken, you'd either have to hit up hoboken or go up north towards edgewater (but then you're getting further from where you ultimately need to be).

If you're into spanish food then you've hit the jack pot in Weehawken. Lots of good places to eat there, you can pretty much go up into any spot and get some good cheep food!
