service

my car since i owned it about 6 weeks always has said when starting

07/12
10000

it said that this morning. went to start car tonight and its now saying service. Why has it come up sooner

Not sure why it's come on now but it would have in another 20 days or so anyhow. Time to bend over if your going to the dealers I'd say.

Going to a local indy, Was hoping to do it next month but better get it booked in started car today service car, but still says

07/12

Errr? It's reminding you that you need a service soon (3 weeks / 21 days by the sounds of it), by 07/12. Isn't that obvious, or am I missing something?

No good waiting until the day before it tells you, that would be a bit inconvenient.

It's giving you time to get it booked in. Most people aren't as observant as you and wouldn't take any notice of the 07/12 10000mls bit.

Sorry i see what your saying. I just like to do thinks on time i always keep check on the car and what it tells me. I didn't expect it to tell me so soon.

Not many drivers (like my missus) would even know what the little "07/12 10000" meant.

They need great flashing lights and a man with a foghorn to leap out at them shouting '"book a service!! FFS"

I think the OP thought it would say 0 miles when it got to service time but as someone else said above, it';s the lesser of the two values

When my brake fluid needed changing it was bonging a month and half before (yellow warning) everytime I started it up - drove me mad
