Inspect them first. KWs are good and have a lifetime warranty I think (mine do) but not sure if the warranty is for the original buyer. Still, I would look at the shape they are in. If they are uninstalled (which I would think they are) look over everything for defects, cracks, leaks, tears, chips, etc.. That said - since v1s go from 1500 to 2400 depending on your car and where you buy them...

I struggle with this too, but right or wrong, I try and make it as math-based as possible to reduce subjectivity, emotion, and not low-ball anyone nor get ripped off myself etc...I use the same principle of car depreciation on car parts. According to Edmonds.com a brand new car depreciates roughly 9% just driving it off the lot. 19% by year 1 and 15K miles and by year 2 and 30k miles the car has depreciated about 31%. Since 15,000 km = 9k miles roughly I would split the difference between 19% and 31% (12%) and add 6% to 19% (25%) and multiply that as the depreciation by what the original cost was to get a figure, subtract it from the purchase price when it was new, and negotiate from there; if he paid 1500 new for them that would make the 25% depreciation 375 and the V1s a calculated value of 1125. 1000 price then would be a good deal if everything else checks out and gets even better for you if he paid more than 1500 for them new. If he purchased them used...you may not be getting such a good deal.

All that verbiage above can be summarized as: based on 15000 km of use you have a 25% estimated depreciation factor. Take 25% off the retail price. If, after you depreciate the price and it is over 1000 then it is a good deal and if under 1000 not so good.

Not bad, but a bit high in price. I'd say around $900 at least..
