I would have liked a 330i if they still made them in E90.

About £500 cheaper, 100kg lighter, sounds nicer and the open road fuel consumption isn't that different. They use a lot more juice around town though.

335i on RFT, damp/ wet conditions then even an R32 would leave it by half a car's length...and especially if the driver didn't turn off the DTC/DSC....

however, dry conditions...well the 335 will buttfcuk VXR ....never driven one of those but the voice in my head tells me not to be scared of them...

Anyway with traffic light grand prix in general, you never know if the other driver is giving it 100% or not. It's probably very rare that the average 6-cylinder BMW driver uses full throttle in normal driving.

correct about giving it 100% ...u never kno what the other driver is doing...

i use full throttle and DTC off in normal driving! ;-)

Have I mentioned the trip to the supermarket where I did the grocery shopping and bought, among other things, a watermelon.

The grocery shopping escaped my mind on the way home and I gave it a bit of stick around the corners. When I got home, I spent about 1/2 hour cleaning bits of mashed up watermelon out of the boot.

Did you know that the mk4 R32 does 0-30 in the same time as a Jag XJ220? Not many people know that. They really do fling themselves off the line to begin with then the weight and lack of torque start to show (I ran an R32 for a year).

On the chav thing - had some semi chav bleating on about a remapped Octavia vRS being quicker than a 335d. Despite my many FACTS (I don't know why I bothered) he still wasn't having any of it and posted up some vid of a remapped GTi "beating" a 335d (which was driven by a complete muppet) to "prove" his point. He also told me that for most cars, the 30-90 time is around the same claiming his mate's 996TT couldn't outdrag a B5 (standard) S4 from 30-90.

Sometimes it's just not worth bothering. For some bizarre reason though, I can't help it!

Why let facts get in the way anyway huh?!

Slight wee issue - my wife is being induced on Friday so we should have a baby (no2) by Saturday!!

I'll PM my number - maybe whizz me a text in case I'm around!

Down again soon?

ztlm - I know, I know. 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 miles times, lap times, etc did nothing to convince this wee chavlet. There is no hope sometimes.

I don't want to fall into bench-racer arguments about cars i've never driven but I agree with the comments about the other person maybe not realise he was racing or if he did he may still not be giving it 100%.

Oh FAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

He was racing, he initiated it, he looked at me and revved ffs. Like a bald revver. Bald and grinning. THE bald grinner.

Im a pretty level headed chappy, in fact......i think i drive downright civilized in my wee Clit. But when given a wee taunt like that in a relatively safe environment, why the fack not eh?

So he did TRY and give it the beans, obviously couldnt.....

BUT IT WAS FUN

FACKING FUN.

AND I ENJOYED THE SOUND OF HIS CAR.

THE SOUND

THE FACKING SOUND!

And no offense, buuuuuuuut.........quite possibly on a dry B road, the 335 would need to be doing some magic moves to do anything about the Clio.

That discussion is for a whole 'nother day though.

been on track with all manner of cars, Clio 172's and 182's really can't keep up mate.

Yeah I believe he was racing you, I also believe his car probably only acceleratd this particular day 0-60mph in 7.5-8 secs!!!!! Due to traction issues and T/C cutting in monstrously.

Thats why you nailed him.

Dont you start DX or ill kipper you!

I didnt nail him mate, it was even stevens hence i got the audio.

7.5-8? Come on mate, give me some credit ffs.

And a B road isnt a track bud, maybe it is on the mainland.

I know our B roads in NI and our E91 is a shambles on them compared to Bonk (yes, i call it that). Unless other E variants are MASSIVELY different?

Refined, BMW?, yes.....on an infinite level.........able to handle a dirty, shit, camber bucked road at 100%.....no.

No way

Clio. Absolutely. Full on.

Evo tested a 182 Trophy against an M6 on very twisty back roads a while back. While the M6 was clearly a quicker car overall, it was surprisingly close.

Decent little hot hatches are nippy in their element.

I do mate, it may be harsh and rattles like a piggy bank but is blessed with the traction of Thor....courtesy of Michelin.

So it did its 0-60 today no differently than it does it on a hot day traction wise, which i suppose is testament to the E91's traction control too.....

Hey, im not willy waving Carlos.....it was just an observation.

And i know the ring is like glass to the roads im talking about, obviously thats no contest at all.
