If anyone is looking for a BT cable i still have mine with 1vin left. £100 delivered

I too had issues with ebay cables. Had 3 different ones before finally getting one that worked. INPA has been very useful over the last couple of years. Read and deleted codes and reset my steering angle sensor. Its a great tool if a touch of a nightmare to install!

INPA for E90 HELP!

Guys,

I'm brand new to the forum and have a 2006 BMW 325i (E90) and am attempting to fix a passenger seat air bag seat mat sensor that has has failed and caused a red warning light (air bag symbol) on the dash and an overhead light to go indicating the air bag is not active for the passenger seat. BMW states my VIN does permit this to be fixed in the 2008 RECALL for this exact problem so I'm looking in to the INPA and clearing the code myself once the mat is replaced. I haven't purchased a cable yet either and am using Win XP with no serial ports on the laptop (only USB). I downloaded a version of INPA and successfully installed it but it does not show E90 as one of the models on the startup screen, they appear to all be older models (years 1993-1999). Where did you get your INPA from to support the 2006 E90? Which USB cable should I buy and from where? Am I going about this fix the wrong way? The local dealer wants $1300 and another is asking $720, I can't believe it. The car is one year out of warranty and this fault will not allow us to pass the state inspection unless it is rectified. We just don't have that kind of money, and am looking for a cheaper fix (i.e. $120 cable and freeware). Thanks in advance for any help and/or assistance!!!

The software came with my cable so not to sure where you would get the software from on its own. Maybe the pne you have got/downloaded is for an older version like you say. On mine there is definatly an option for the the E90 and E92/E93 so you need the updated version.

Try typing bmw inpa cable into ebay and you will se a few come up, as said above I went for up 2010 so it covered most of the models.

What year is your car?
Looking by your status you are located across the pond, am I right?

I recently bought an INPA +DCAN cable off ebay, but the software would not install. It kept displaying the error message "missing file - bmw.lzh archive" or something along them lines. Has anyone else experienced this, is this what happens when you dont run in XP mode?

Thanks in advance

Anyone find a cable that is compatible with Win 7- 64 bit, and for cars 2008-on ?????

Bloody BT still will not give a date for software update to include Injector Coding.

All I want is to read codes of currently installed Injectors, not code new ones, anyone (Boz, Phil) close to me (Milton Keynes) who could just read current Inj codes ??????

I never got mine working....

I need to persuade a guy at work (software developer and car geek) to have a go at making it work.

I wanna check the same thing!! But also if necessary code new ones..

Dug up this old thread.

What about this cable and software? Looks good for all cars 2000-2010 and comes with INPA etc.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-USB-OB...item4171823faa

Its £36.99 but from a UK seller, there's lots at under £30 but they're all from Far east based sellers..

Also says it works on win7 too, but I have a workshop laptop on XP anyhow.

Any comments from you coding experts?

I bought the same cable from that seller Doughboy, but without the adaptor. Cable works fine with INPA.

Bought.

I just want it initially for raising the idle speed.

As I'm fitting an uprated clutch and solid flywheel this will cause gearbox rattles at the low standard idle.

I'm interested to see how you get on with this. I was going to buy the same cable to just for basic diagnostics not really for coding.

I've already got a Bavarian Techic OBDII diagnostic lead I bough a couple of years ago, but it has no coding ability.

It's very user friendly and great for diagnostics and testing and resetting adaptions (vital for 335i modders), but no coding

I'm also keen on looking into coding but I'm a little concerned that I will get a little 'trigger happy'.

This was the cable that I was looking at which is recommended from the boys over the pond: http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16

I think this is the same/similar cable from the UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Interface-US.../dp/B0055BD4SO

Read down the webpage, these cheaper leads will only work on pre-2007 cars.

You need the better (slightly more expensive) K+DCAN leads for newer cars.
