Looking for Smart Top dealers and installers in NJ area

Can anyone help me out? I think I'm ready to go for it. Any concerns with the dealer for those of you that have it?

that required a googling. Sooo you can operate the top up to ~30mph?

i.e. you can start rolling when it's opening or have it closed before you reach your destination, that's pretty cool. how much do they run?

I purchased my smartTop mod from mods4cars.com for about $400. I did the programming and installation myself. The first time it took about an hour because I had no clue what I was doing and read and reread the instructions a million times. Since then I've cut the time down to 5 minutes. I always take it out now when Blackberry goes in to dealer for any services.

I've never let it up or down at speeds above 20 but I believe the manual says 25 is the limit.

I highly recommend it...and would pay twice the amount for the convenience and WOW factor I get from mere mortals in their manual tops. Muahahahaha!

Surprised that a local coder can't just allow this to happen without an external module?

I would say coding would be a wiser move then doing this.

I'm in Texas. I always take it out so the BMW dealer won't trip about unwarranted mods. Plus the wouldn't know how to work the remote. If they press the open button too long the top will retract. I didn't want the SA or tech freaking out or playing with it.

Trouble is- there is no coding to drop the top and raise it at the press of a button and walk away, or for raising and lowering the top while moving.

Coding won't work, only one person had some success and it only worked with very old software versions and didn't come close to doing what the smart top can.

Best mod for the vert is a smart top, it can be turned off for dealer visits and is stealth, but it needs to be removed if they are going to update the roof module software!

. Your looking to do smart top just for the fact of opening and closing the top while moving? If so that can be coded to do that and its simple. Let me know and I will look it up on what needs to be done. As for one touch close and open of top well smart top is the only thing that will make that happen

You need to code the CTM module using nettodat coding using ncsdummies

Look for the value
Geschwindigkeit

Set a custom value of 32 and the top will open and close up to 25 mph possibly more. The default value is 00. I have coded this to my E93 and its so such a pleasure now while moving I can open and close top. There is no coding for one touch open and close like the smart top but I can live with that since I have older software and was able to code my top with the fob to open and close without comfort access.

First the Smart top is awesome.

You can open top and windows with 1 button action on the remote.
You can open and close top while in motion and set the MPH limit.
You can reverse the operation of the console switch.
Plus one touch operation of console switch, no need to hold switch.
With comfort access you can have top close up enough to open trunk and then have the top open up again.
You can turn off the module (no need to remove) if taking it in for service.
And other features like mirrors open and close on lock and unlock, etc. Its worth it.

The installation is very simple all plug and play. No need for any installer to do it.

Plus if you ever need a software update your coding will be lost and you have to do it again.

Buy the smart top and just follow instructions its easy. Or if you are ever in Delaware come by and I'll do it for you in about an hour! haha
