Set up for 2007 328i Sport Package- Help a noob
Alright guys, bear with me here. I'm new. I have a 07 328i with Sport Package. I am in dire need for new summer tires and a winter package. I am currently rolling on RFT Continental sport contact 2 SSR with 225/45R/17 on the front and 255/40R/17 on the back. These continental's flat out are unsafe. The smallest but of rain and I have no control. Someone give me some advice on good, QUIET summer tires. Price not too big of a deal.
Ok the winter package. I want to go with a square set-up and I hear from you guys that the Blizzaks are pretty solid. What wheel size should I be looking at? Should I downsize to 16" wheels. I ask because with the sport package having a lower profile, I was unsure if 17" wheels with Blizzaks would have the proper clearance. I know, I know. Thank you all |

for summer tires , I'm on continental extreme contact DW . This is my second set and I think they are excellent, especially on wet pavement. good price point and high treadwear rating as well.

You can go to 16" if you like, but 225/45R17 on all 4 courners on 7.5" or 8" wide rims will work perfectly fine for you. |

I have the same tire and wheel sizes.
I recommend the Bridgestone Pole Position S-04s. The are quiet like the Conti DWs, they ride a little stiffer but they hold the road better. See tirerack's and Car & Driver's comparison tests of max perf summer tires. |

Unless you want to stay with runflats, I highly recommend Michelin Pilot Super Sport for summer. I went with 225/40R18 front and 255/35R18 on the rear on a set of 18" MRR GT7 rims for the summer. I run 225/45R17 Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 tires on my stock 161 rims, for the winter, and they're just amazing.
BTW, I have a 2008 328i with sport package. Cheers! |

Michelin Pilot Super Sport, Bridgestone S04 Pole Position, and Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 are currently among the best of the best.
