Most of the stuff can be fabricated, the important thing is if you have the tools and materials...Man If I had a machine shop, you bet your ass I would be experimenting on making something for our cars, and if it works get into a market that can rightfully explode in profits!!!

Several people thought it was a joke. I personally thought, "how could it not" if it directs more air into the intake, it's got to help in some way shape or form. I never did order them however. Independent dyno testing of them would be awesome though. But paying $100 an hour for dyno time is costly when you need to show up without them, do 2-3 dyno runs, then take the time to install them on the car and do a couple more runs to see the result. |

dude, if you think about it, you don't even need a mount if your camera is small enough....I just stick it between the headrests and lower the headrest until it fits snug....w00t - built in mount

Go with RPI scoops. It is dyno-proven on the Dyno Dynamics, the best dyno machine on the market.
If you guys doubt the RPI scoops, if you guys are local, go straight to RPI and they will dyno your car with and without the scoops. |

I hate that red look. I prefer black & I hear there ia some fabrication involved. That is why I am thinking of the Swoopscoopes.

$99 isn't that expensive for the RPI scoops.
I know someone could make them for $5 but TBH the DIY ones look a bit too much like what an hombre in the barrio would put on his 1985 Corolla. The RPI website says they come in black or red. |

Well to be honest, I made my own and sprayed them black, once the kidneys are back on, you really can't even tell which brand you bought! MIne were carefully made to not look ghetto, but some people feel if they spend money on something means it looks and works better!!

so some say.
I wonder what the return policy is on them. I'd love to do some VBox tests with them. Find an open private road, so some 40-100 mph rolling runs without them on. Then head home, install them and head back to the exact same road and do them again. See what the results are (ie: if the times and distances drop with the scoops on) if they don't improve a bit, then remove them and ship them back for a full refund. Hit_Apex did this with a test of DCI vs. just a Helene drop in. With the DCI his car did 20-90 a few tenths faster and did it in 12 fewer feet (about 3/4 car length) |

If you only knew how anal I am with my car, then you would understand that it indeed looks professional to my standards, the only thing it really doesn't have is a BIG LOGO on it!!!

Ryan I never took pics of it when i installed it, but I took it from this DIY and made some changes to it...I didn't use those BOLTS the OP used because it did look Ghetto in my eyes, but I used some small lock screws and betalinked the screws into place so it won't come loose overtime with vibrations...I also painted them in satin black and like I said you don't even see them with the kidney grills in place...here's the link but mine looks totally even as far as the shape of the scoop! Took my time!
