I don't see why you would dick around and potentially ruin your bumper to make room for something that isn't designed to fit on your car in the first place. If you insist on doing so, find someone who knows what they're doing, as it appears clear you are concerned about screwing it up doing it yourself. Why take the chance?

From what I've read, I don't believe you can.

1. What is the best tool to use to trim the bumper?

2. What is the part number of the DA clips and how many do you need? The OEM diffuser has plastic snaps already built into the part. The OEM Perf looks to have them as well, so where do you put the metal clips?

Installed my OEM performance diffuser the other day.

I used a sharp steak knife tip but you could use a razor knife. It is very soft and easily scores by just running the tip. Just run it down a bunch of times and snap off pieces.

How about the extra clips? Did you have to buy them or just use the built in snaps?

Tabs or snaps are built into the diffuser on top just like the original one that came on the m-sport bumper. Its the bottom screws and threads that lock it down which are already there if you have a factory bumper.

So the original snaps and the screws - what about the metal clips they are talking about in the instructions a few posts up?

Can you snap a picture of yours after your install? Also, what paint option did you use - full body color or gloss/matte black? Thanks.

Garage List
I hate to dig up old news, but I just did this so want to offer some advice.

1. Use the diagram in post #8, it is extremely helpful

2. In order to make the cuts, you will need the following:
a. A razor, preferably one of those expandable/collapsable ones
b. A dremel tool

3. Use the dremel to mark your initial positions. Use the dermel to cut the large thick portion displayed right under #1 in the diagram in post 8.

4. Use the razor to score the thin region from start to finish. Score the area 5-10 times.

5. At this point it should be loose enough to bend and flap backwards. Do this a few times and score it some more until you remove it.

This requires A LOT of patience because any slip with the razor or dremel and you'll ruin your bumper. I made a few small nicks, but didn't care all that much. Keep in mind the original M-Sport diffuser HIDES MORE of the bumper trim than the performance diffuser - so make sure to wash it good, and touch up any nicks you make.

Set aside a good 1.5 hours to get this done, especially if you don't lift up the car.
