Most dealers don't mention it. Especially on this side of the country since its such a long drive. But even if you live in California, it would be worth it

The 335d is definitely not a customer/standard production car. Notice, no front PDC. Could be the car used at some of the auto shows? Great catch and excellent pics. Thank you for sharing.

I don't get it. What does PDC have to do with anything? My car doesn't have PDC.

Just for fun, pointing out the 335d in the pic has rear PDC but no front PDC. 2009 US production cars have front and rear PDC if you order the option.

I actually didnt even notice that, good catch!

Im sure it wasnt a customers car, as they arent due to be released for months. But, it had all the options. I loved the way the new iDrive looks, and I didnt even get to see it on!

I just really enjoyed being able to see it in the flesh. I am in love with the LCI now

Ahhh ok. Maybe for some reason the D don't come with the front PDC... or like others have said it isn't a customers car.

Really though... Who needs PDC? If you can't park then you shouldn't drive.

So I figured something out guys, the picture of the 335d I took when I was in SC was actually for their advertising videos. I was surfing BMWusa.com and there are ton of videos of this car, and the X5xdrive35d.

They would never leave a customer's brand new car outside in harsh elements just sitting there, would they?

This is an excellent post. Thanks for sharing these pics and your story. How long was the tour of the plant? What if you had one of those watches that took photo's like James Bond?

You didn't show us your car, did I miss it, don't they park it in a special bay for your enclosed in glass then you drive it outside for the first time? Where are those pics?

Yes, they do. But its usually for such a short time, its not a problem.

The plant tour was around an hour I believe, could have been longer. I was in such awe it could have been a 6 hour tour and I wouldnt have known.

24.3 was my time on the short track. ...Fastest of the day! )

Great writeup man! I read through the entire thing. I bought my car in 2006 and my dealer didn't say anything about this at all! DARN, I definetely would have done it!! Maybe next time...
