All aluminum radiator, more efficient core, bigger/better fan. THAT is what I am trying to get accomplished, talking with a local speed shop as well.

Some of you guys have some good ideas, I am working on trying to see if I can purchase a large quantity of BMW parts from BMW if I can get the priceing reduced considerably. If so this will bring down the full oil cooler kit price down. As for the upgrade working to see what I can do with that as well. FMIC already have a price of $585. Radiator is proving to be a little more complicated then first expected. For those who want a second oil cooler on the driver side we feel that one upgraded oil cooler is more than enough, You can cool the oil too much and that can hurt your engine. Remember oil needs to be at a certain temp to keep the viscosity at the desired level.

I understand your frustration, I am not bashing other peoples business models and pricing, everone has to pay the bills. Some of these companies have huge overheads to cover so subseqently that is coming out of their customer's pocket. With us we dont have huge overhead but we require a minimum of 50 orders to make these at a super low prices. I will look into the catback option for you. Do you guys perfer SS or Titanium? Single exhaust or duel? resonated or non resonated?

I'd like to see a redesigned intake system that doesn't get as heatsoaked.

my expreirince was that.... even with V K Motorwerks upgraded OC, oil temperature easily get up to 250F to 263F after 2 or 3 pulls from 60km/h to 275km/h. I wish that i could keep oil temperature at 220F to 230F for best result... (without V K Moterwerks upgraded OC, the temperature could go as high as 270F here in Taiwan) we all know that high oil temerature has VERY GREAT EFFECT on the results of 0-100km/h, 100-200km/h, or even 200-300km/h.... from 100-200km/h, oil temperature at 220F could do up to 1 second faster than that of oil temperature at 240F. that's why I think i need a second oil cooler. Instead of having 2 upgraded oil cooler, maybe you could come up with a oil cooler kit that only add an extra oil cooler at dirver's side and keep stock oil cooler at passenger's side.

The thermostat doesnt kick open to allow th oil to the OC until 215F and doesnt fully open until 230F. Cooler oil doesnt mean that the performance will be better. Oil temp itself has no barring on performance if your water temps and air temps are high. The reason the car runs better when cooler is because the car is experienceing less heat soak. An oil cooler, a working intake, upgraded fmic, upgraded radiator, and a free flowing downpipes/exhaust will be the best setup to prevent heat soak and have the best repetative performance.

Ti would be great, but that stuff is scary expensive. DP back system w/cats for under $2.5k, less than 45lbs., and you would have a market. I would buy one.

Extra oil coolers are not likely to be as useful as an upgraded H20 cooling system for those with overheating issues. IMO the new BMW Perf system should resolve such issues, albeit at a high price. So I don't see as much potential competing against BMW in that area.

Intake & catch can are the open niches.

i dont know how popular it will be but how about a High flow Catted DP? i know most have or want Catless DP but having to deal with O2 sim, emission, and dealers visits.. i just think it might be worth it going with a high flow cat.. if you can do it for a reasonable price and prove that the performance of it is close to catless, i think you will sell a crap load no problem

About the Oil cooler : if you can get bulk pricing from BMW, what kind of costs are you expecting for a full-up kit?

DP-back exhaust ideas :

2x 2.5 or 2.75 inch pipes

The front section (where it mates to the down pipes) would be a detachable 1.5 foot section.

In this section, you would have either an HFC, or a 'test pipe'.

You could sell the same exhaust, and just pair the proper front section depending on whether or not the user wants cats.

Also, then the user would be able to swap cats with a test pipe at will for inspection, etc.

As far as materials go, I'm agnostic so long as it doesn't rust.

I prefer single tips with a 'y' attachment tip for people who want twins.
(I like real tips, 1 per pipe... it's just a personal thing)

Technically, you could have the mufflers themselves be bolted on for people who want to use another test-pipe to replace the mufflers.

A stainless 3" single exhaust for under $500 would be killer, but probably not so popular.
