vp109 is the bentley of all unleaded fuels, IMHO. Run it every day if you want. It's all good.

Pikkashoe,

I've been wanting to run a local V2 car...PM me if you want to do some runs.

I will have VIP CAI thermal wrapped, cat back exhaust with no resonators or secondary cats, and JBS2 with the 'pill' (JB2H)...which is about 13 rwhp over a regular JBS2 and the intake is 10-15 rwhp with exhaust and tune.

She should be throwing down 350-360ish to the wheels, depending how much my intake/exhaust/JB2H will react with each other. I will dyno within the next few weeks probably.

Glad to see the 2.0.2 is working out for you.

Wanted to put a quick update.

Third day with 2.0.2, the car has fully adapted I think, I have driven over a 100 miles and its gotten stronger since the first night. Not one hiccup, not one stutter, no hesitation. Just pure full power in all the gears. The car pulls like crazy in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear, and 6th. It just keeps pulling and pulling to the redline, to the point if your not careful your bouncing off the 155 mph limiter (did it last night by mistake, but at 151 mph ) before you know it. Its so smooth, yet your being pulled back in your seat the entire gear, where as before you had that initial lunge forward, then it would fade. 1st and 2nd gear are nuts, if you floor it, your going to light up the rear tires.

Now quick question, I am going to fine tune the boost tomorrow night to ensure I am hitting 14.5 psi at 5500 rpms. I plan on running some high octane fuel this weekend for fun as well.

Is there any difference between just filing up entirely with 103 octane, or should I mix with 93 octane to get a 96 octane mix. I also plan on hitting the dyno in two weeks.

When I asked this question I was told that the answer was posted numerous times. That is, any more than 96 octane does not help at all.

So I guess the procede wont untilize anything over 96 octane.
But then again, Shiv said earlier 109 is the bentley of all race gases, I guess its just better for the engine.

Shiv?

where did you get this?

from my research anything higher than 103, and there are issues with insuffiecient timing.

Shiv?
ur right, he also mentions it in the install instructions somewhere.

it would be nice to hear from Shiv, when exactly are we going to encounter timing issues, or lack there of.

So what is the answer then?
Mix to 96 octane, or use the Bentley of fuels? Shiv did specifically say 109 can be used all day, earlier in this thread!

Hi guys,
96 octane is good. 104 octane is better. There will be a point that more octane doesn't help but you are unlikely to see that when dealing with unleaded race fuels.

You know what's great?

I wanted to wait a bit to get v2 so any "issues' could be worked out before I put it in my car.
One of the reasons I waited a bit to order v2 (although lack of my computer was most of it) I will be getting my v2 early next week in the next batch, just as v2.02 is now released and all the initial little "issues" others have had with the first versions of v2 seemed to be resolved.

Perfect.

Well, I guess he and others were wrong.
BTW, some people may not be aware that besides gas octane, colder charge temps also have an anti-knock effect. For example, 91 octane has about the same anti-knock affect of 93 octane (and 93 the same anti-knock affect of 95) if the ambient-air temp difference is around 50-60°F. (taken from here).
So cold air has a double effect of more a dense charge and more anti-knock!

hey pikkashoe did your cars front end feel like it was lifting under hard acceleration? like boom back of the seat type thing?
I never owned a turbo, but on the way back home my car with 2.02 auto was super smooth and torqued out. The low end jerkyness is gone also.. I just wish i knew how to feel power. I came from a 180whp integra type r.. It was super fast whichever way though ! Too bad it was rainy and 35 degrees out.... . I think i just put 50 miles on today .. Tomm ill test some more..

V2bling, yeah the car will feel like the front end is up, but nothing too crazy. I came from an S2000 so I know what you mean. The car will get stronger over the next couple days if you just put in the new map 2.0.2. Im happy to report still no problems with mine, not one single issue, and a 12.84 quarter mile run to show the new power!!

i drove today and i got on it fairly quickly, but not redline. I got limp mode though.. Is it cause i only did a 45 minute battery disconnect and then load map? I allready drove the 50 miles too. Im happy you have no issues.. I need to get on that level.. Oh yea are you manual or auto?

Im guessing your auto, which is having issues from what I understand.

I run 6mt. Dont worry it will be resolved shortly.
