Hey dumb question, but your picture looks slightly different than my car. Here are two images I took of the shock i need to get out. Looks more like I have to stick a hex or star-bit key in the middle, and then loosen the nut?

huh, it's been 10 years, time to resurrect this
DIY was very helpful for my rear sway bar install on 2008 (pre-lci) 335i sedan and I was able to complete it without touching exhaust. Basically unbolted the subframe while supporting it with a jack under diff. Didn't remove front 4 bolts, but did remove rear bolts to give a bit more clearance |
